i’ve not been paying close attention to watchtower developments, but talking to a jw yesterday it occurred to me the society (yes, still use that term - old school) have been sending out mixed messages in recent years.

from what i gather, a few years ago the gb announced that during the great tribulation jws would be required to preach a “hailstone message of judgement” which involved telling people it was too late for them to repent and they were definitely going to be destroyed.

there were hints that this could be very soon, “any day now” preaching could stop and the hailstone message come in, kind of thing.

Somewhat vague about having the same chance no matter when you die or are still alive yes, but don’t wish your unbelieving loved ones die beforehand because if they are alive they have the same chance. And when you think they are not vague about everyone being resurrected unless really bad. And they are not vague about how silly it is to wish your loved ones die beforehand so they have a better chance. So they are not vague about that.

All they are vague about is WHO IS REALLY READY BAD AND WONT GET A RESURRECTION OR WILL BE KILLED AT ARMAGEDDON

Or to put it another way, if unbelievers are not as likely to survive as those those who have died are likely to be resurrected, then people might as well go back to hoping their relatives die before Armageddon again

New approach to ministry

there is a new approach to ministry where the direction is to just talk to people and listen to what they want to talk about.

the new school for the midweek meeting is completely different and is all about the new approach .

even before the no reporting changes field service dropped right off.

I’m also amazed that those still in have not yet realised something is not right.

Take this new light at the 2023 AGM Most JWs have completely missed the largest change in recent JW history, I don’t think they have grasped the difference between the old light and new light. Yes the new light that if you die beforehand or are alive during Armageddon you have the same chance of being in paradise.

It’s all very well saying we can’t be dogmatic and we just don’t know. But they do seem to be dogmatic that everyone who ever died will be resurrected unless really bad and now there is the same chance if alive during Armageddon.

So there is a chance billions of people will make it through Armageddon

Silentbuddah there have been lots of videos and the changed midweek meeting program is all about the new approach

we even have 1 min parts now and a few 2 min parts so that as many bros and sis as possible can have parts on the meeting.

some parts are literally just talking to people about unrelated stuff and not mentioning the Bible at all, and this is recommended well done you implemented the new approach

also we had parts showing someone unhappy and asking questions about the blood issue or something else and the idea is to just walk away.

Yes this was a recent assessment on the new school system

It’s almost as if he is trying to be late and not just a little but really obviously late with anything going on in JWland.

Or he misses it altogether perhaps because he was so late there is no point covering it now.

All those brothers who were not allowed to go to Elders school because they were not fully vaccinated should have another school put on just for the unvaccinated who were not allowed to go

It is an indisputable fact that they have moved closer to that idea with the new light.

the question how close are they to Billions will survive Armageddon

I think the official answer is we can’t be dogmatic we just don’t know, but we can trust the merciful judge of all the earth to do the right thing

so yes Slim they have once again moved closer to the Christadelphian model, and the possibility is there that billions now living will never die

There have been a number of cases where a JW has murdered close relatives.

This maybe part of the reason to bring in new light that your unbelieving loved ones don’t need to die beforehand.

We all know good people who for whatever reason will never become JWs. The question is this……

If they are alive at Armageddon then would they have less chance of being in paradise than if they died beforehand? Brother Jackson says no less chance, but Notsure says they have less chance if still alive at Armageddon

There is a definite contradiction with this new light on the one hand if you interpret it as Notsure does, then it is still better for unbelievers to die beforehand to get into paradise.

But on the other hand the new light very clearly says when a person dies doesn’t make a difference to getting into paradise.

Either it does or it doesn’t.

They cant have it both ways.

If lots of people ask their elders and COs this very simple question-

Brother Elder I’m confused about this new light. I have unbelieving loved ones who I want to be in paradise. They will never ever change and respond towards jehovah but they are such good people. If they died before they would get a resurrection but do they have less chance of being in paradise if they were still alive at Armageddon or the same chance as Brother Jackson says?

Bible study

i used to attend the meetings and was baptized about 30 years ago but i haven't gone to the meetings or associated with any one i new from the congregation for around 15 - 20 years.

i want to get back to studying but i am not ready to go to any meetings.

other than the watchtower and awake what book is used these days for people just starting to study with jehovah's witnesses?.

Yes so much has changed last few decades but even last few years.

There is no more counting time. There is hardly any ministry done either, these days it’s just talking to people about what they want to talk about.

it’s as if we all should be proud that we managed to talk for a long time without bringing up the Bible. This is the new approach or the new light that some suggest came from the PR company we also notice a significant amount of mental issues these days.

many believed it when were told there is not long left now, they pioneered with low incomes and no plans for retirement

many sacrificed buying a house or getting a full time job, having children because it was frowned upon

now they are bitter about those brothers who said those things as they are all proven to be charlatans

the good news is the next generation of JWs are not pioneers and are getting educated and thinking about good jobs.

many young ones are not even getting baptised after the new light
