  i’m an elder who is pima, i’m amazed how much info is available to all elders.

  you can see all private details of every member of the congregation.

  i wonder how these sisters feel about their private details being available to these creepy elders?.

  What evidence is there for a biblical jesus?

  is there any independently verified evidence that a miracle worker called jesus existed and did the things that the bible said he did?.

  the four gospels were written by unknown authors many decades after the so called events, so can't be considered as eyewitness accounts.

  i think that there may have been a apocalyptic preacher who was executed by the romans and the story evolved from their.

  Our current dating system started from a man called Jesus Christ was born 2024 years ago. That is pretty strong evidence.

  also as has been said Josephus and many other ancient historians recorded Jesus.

  there is no doubt about this very special man called Jesus but there is doubt about the miracles and who he claimed to be?

  uh oh, looks like the mega thread gave up the ghost, so while i investigate / fix it just continue the discussion here .... it's been a long 9 years lloyd evans / john cedars.

  I served in Bethel in London from the age of 19. I can confirm that all the indoctrination about no sex nothing allowed like jerking off (even though they all do) it does indeed mess up young men.

  You are in an environment of mostly young men and middle aged married couples. So the wives are loving all the attention they get from these horny young men.

  there was often a case of a clean single young brother in his early 20s or younger ‘accidentally’ walking into a room with a sister half undressed or just in a towel ect. As they shared accommodation blocks.

  They often get told the story of Joseph and the wife who was bored with her old husband and had her eyes on this new young man. This put ideas into the heads of these poor innocent young men.

  That pillowgate talk all young Bethelites have to be exposed to is definitely programming. These boys came from innocent backgrounds and this is the first time they hear about rubbing your penis so that it feels good ect

  the same principle of an all girls school they go crazy over any young man who they see because they don’t see that many. Or an all boys school and they fancy any woman because that’s all they see.

  well Bethel is mostly full of single young men who hardly ever see young women. This is why there is a higher case of homosexuality and so much sexual problems in later life.

  Lloyd Evans is a classic example of JW programming messing people up sexually. He openly admits to being a perverted messed up sexual broken man.

  is it just me or has there been a massive change in jws of late?.

  when i grew up in the cult they had a real sense of urgency and would do an hour minimum, these days it’s not even ten mins before coffee break.. same goes for everything else, it’s half hearted .

  Best thing is to have other things in your life and something like your local congregation adding something valuable to your life. But not relying on your congregation to bring value to your life.

  at the moment JWs need the congregation but I can see in the future it will be similar to most other religions and churches where everyone is halfhearted and just go to place of worship occasionally

  There is no effort put into ministry anymore it’s almost completely halted.

  There are some pioneer types and of course the special pioneers who seem to be on their own.

  They moan and whine at the half hearted publishers who only do ten mins. They have to stay out on their own for three hours.

  Many Publishers go to the group and then say they are going to do street work or park witnessing which means just go do a walk around the shops or park until meet up for coffee break.

  these publishers obviously do t want to actually do any witnessing for watchtower and that is their choice.

  but the pioneer types are giving them a hard time, why don’t you come and do first call with me?

  Even the carts have died off. It used to be busy on the cart chat someone saying who can do this day with me at 11? Someone else saying I can do this time on this day and so on.

  these days the slots are all empty nobody books them anymore. The days are getting shorted and its getting colder.

  why stand in the cold when you can go to a lovely ministry group in someone’s house, have an excuse for a social club then coffee break later

  I would say the majority of JWs have now figured out that the end is not coming in their lifetime. My parents were true believers. My mom pioneered since I can remember, dad was an elder for a long time. After the annual meeting changes, where the governing body member said that now people can repent at the last minute, actually that people would be allowed to see the Great Tribulation and repent, my mom stopped pioneering, Dad stepped down as an elder, as well as other elders in the congregation stepped down.They didn't make a fuss, they just quietly stepped down and stopped Door to Door.

  Many congregations are reducing groups from 6 to 5. Then combining those groups because the support on Saturdays just isn’t there.

  then Halls that have multiple congregations are reducing three congregations into two and it will keep reducing.

  soon it will be just one hall for miles around

  I think the door to door work has become a social outing for the lonely

  ThIs is so true. Hardly any activity in door to door work. It’s just an excuse for the social club.
