I thought when the croked you were free. I think that is why my Mom chose to die to be rid of my father.

A missing husband or wife.
by thomyorke indo you remember, in which "reader's question" was an article about cases, when a husband officially declared as a missing?.
(probably he is dead or captured by somali pirates...).
i remember, that article was very strange- there was stated that it would be possible to make a divorce.... but if such missed person will "ressurect", this couple must get married again!.

How many have gotten interested in Human Services, Charity, Social Justice, Social Work and the like after awakening to Watchtower aberrance?
by Fernando inwhilst under watchtower influence i had little interest or awareness in these areas.. now they have become a passion.. i wonder if it has something to do with the "cult identity or self" versus the "authentic identity or self" as outlined by steven hassan in the "interacting with dual identities" chapter of his book "releasing the bonds - empowering people to think for themselves".. who has had a similar experience and/or change of career related to unplugging from the watchtower?.
or a story to tell?.

After leaving I became very aware of the need for 2 avenues. 1 domestic violence as I was the reciepent of such treatment by my JW husband, and animal right as my father was so abusive to animals. I love my contribution to both. I work closely with the local Humane Society as well as a safe house for abused victims. It is interesting that both my EX and my father are " in good standing" in the cong. Abuse is very deeply seated and the cult is not only tolerant but actually supportive of such treatment. I am also a sponsor for several AA member as I turned to booze to cope with my demons. Giving it forward is what is all about and no one "counts the time" Harleybear Ridin Free

jwfacts your article is awesome thank you for it. I will be hanging on to it for future reference. I crack up that the ORG would say they are different because they are a POSITIVE religion. They have got to be kidding. I have never seen so much negitive crap in ANY organization. That took balls.

Is there any religion that has so much anti-apostate focus as JWs
by yadda yadda 2 ini'm surprised at how much is in the watchtower lately and at assemblies warning of apostates.
is it my imagination or is this ramping up a lot lately.
i am a born-in and stopped attending only a few years ago (now in my 40's) but don't remember so much anti-apostate warning as we see now.. the watchtower seems extra obsessed with apostates and the need to warn about them lately.

That he is a idiot??? REALLy? Who is the idiot??? Someone who asks a question? Is that what this site is all about? Sounds a lot like the org. don't ask and you won't get jammed up. Don't question and you won't make the journey to the KH libary with the elders. Don't disagree or you will be called an idiot. Hmmmmmmm Maybe I confused this site with the WTBT society.

I remember how I always preferred working alone door to door
by gubberningbody ini'd just stand at the door and not knock on it or ring it.
if someone came, i'd make a presentation - "here's your tract!".
otherwise i'd just wait a couple of minutes and then go to the next door and not knock.. .

I was forced to work alone when I Reg. Pioneered. see Brother Brownose thread under Harely Bear to see why. I liked meeting people and having discussion on topics that other JW's would have kitten over talking about. I met some amazing people. One guy who was a Luthern Minister, another gal who was a white witch, another fellow that was one of the most spiritual people I have ever met who happened to be a Hells Angel..... we are still very close friends, and the best looking cowboy on the planet who wanted to marry me. Wonder where he is? I was lucky that I worked a lot of rural territory and unassigned areas. ( Living in Montana, Oregon and the Dakota's there is a lot of that) I also never ever hung with the WT crap. We just would talk and share. Best visit I had was a woman that had her mean ass turkey chase me into my car. She felt so bad because I was nice about it and ask if I could come back at Thanksgiving for dinner. She invited me in. She fixed lunch and we talked for hours. She was really great. I learned so much from those folks but mostly learned that others are good, loving spiritual people and they don't have a Watchtower among em. They help me gain the perspective and wisdom to get free. Thanks my friends. Harley Bear and Truely Ridin Free zooooooom
