I think it’s quite believable, if for example the elderly sisters were in the habit of bringing doggy treats to every meeting

Another heart-worming story
by StephaneLaliberte intoday, i got an email from an old friend with a story told by brother andre ramseyer who attended training at patterson in england.
a service dog regularly attended the meetings with his owner.
when the owner passed away, the dog was given to another blind man.

Zoom zoom rules +
by Wakanda in1. and this is most important, everyone listen up: dress up like you normally would for meeting!
-oh, gawd.. 2. if you use a zoom background, make sure it is not distracting, or something crass like prison.
stick with something dignified and subtle.

Why doesn't the wt discuss the real reason many partake?
by nowwhat? init has nothing to do about feeling chosen or ruling in heaven, but rather many feel it's a command for all christians, that by partaking you are accepting christ as their saviour!

Hey Shyness
if by chosen ones you mean the 144000, we could ask the following:
What scripture proves that the 144000 is a literal number?
and
What scripture says that only the 144000 (literal or symbolic) should partake?

Betheliesalot that is something that I was getting more and more uncomfortable with as the years passed. How could we believe that the Son of God who performed miracles and even raised the dead, followed by a group of followers who were eye witnesses to this, and also performed miracles and raised the dead, not manage to convert even half of the anointed 144000 in the first few centuries? Especially when 5000 became believers right at the outset, and went out preaching?
How many 1000s or tens of thousands died at the hands of the Roman Empire, refusing to compromise their faith? LESS than 144000 by the time we reached the 20th century??? Are we better preachers than Jesus and the apostles, and Paul.....?
Good grief, they have been taking the proverbial

Covid 19 - expert says it's hype!
by The Fall Guy inlol!
having commented earlier on experts' differing views, here's a prominent german physician/politician - wolfgang wodarg - who made controvorsial statements that the coronavirus "pandemic" is not out of the ordinary and that italy's mortality rate (8,215 deaths from coronavirus so far) is no greater than it would normally be from the 'flu virus.
in 2017/18 approx 18,000 italians died due to the flu.. the wikipedia section - controversial theses in the 2020 covid 19 crisis - is worth examining.

We are not used to having our whole world changed for us, so I don’t think many of us took this seriously at first. When I first heard that Italy were cordoning off 2 or 3 towns it sounded really extreme. Here we are about 4 weeks later with many countries in partial lockdown
Form me at first it was adjusting to working from home, with the prospect of spending more time with my family (the dog was thrilled). But over the past two days this has become more personal. Over that period we have lost both my father in law and my mother in law to the virus. They were both elderly, and staying indoors, but were infected my the home help that visited them on a daily basis. Of course we cannot travel to be there, so potentially no closure for months
So no, this is no ordinary flu. Take it seriously everyone, look after yourselves

2034 - A Future History of Jehovah's Witnesses
by slimboyfat ini don't know what i am talking about... read this post at your peril.
back in the 1960s there was, seemingly, a brief period of relaxation in authoritarianism among jehovah's witnesses.
those who have read raymond franz's 'crisis of conscience' will have heard the story about dan sydlik's remark about the need to 'open some windows to let some air in here'.

Do you mind me asking if the thread you mention is still open regarding the witnesses splitting into branches and factions?

Yes, one elder’s wife had the cheek to tell me one day that I was effectively paying her water bill. Just what you need to hear when you are struggling to make ends meet and paying your taxes

Cart Witnessing....They deserve the same ''cold shoulder''
by RULES & REGULATIONS inhere is a man named jerry.
on a public sidewalk, he asks attendees leaving a jehovah's witness convention in san diego a simple question, ''do jehovah's witnesses have the truth.
not one person acknowledges him.
-

i guess because the ones leaving the convention haven’t had a meeting for field ministry and a prayer, they are not in ministry mode. Being a Christian should be something you are, not something you turn on and off like a tap for an hour or so a week. -

How Much of the WT Teaching Did You Believe?
by Ding insome people on this forum have said that they never really believed any aspect of wt teaching, that they couldn't wait to get free of it all.. others seems to have been really gung ho, believing it all until something happened that got you questioning "the truth.".
i would say my own high water mark was about 50%, which put me squarely on the fence, trying to decide if i should be in or out.. how about you?.

I started at 100% and worked my way down. Starting I think when I read the chapter in the Harp of God where it says the prophet Nahum foretold the invention of the train. Hmmmm
