  Good memories of full-time service?

  perhaps not a topic for everybody... mine.. in both sp service in a foreign field in europe , the freedom and helping people to read and write in spanish .

  doing a lot of work in the congregations.. in missionary-service.. helping congregations in a third-world country and see good results in family relations.

  and the siestas from 13:00 to 15:00..... who has good memories of bethel?

  Thank you for admitting you loved having NO responsibility. (I’m sure you loved Jehovah too.)..I always felt that love of the carefree life was a motivating factor for many Witnesses pioneering

  It is sadly so true. Everything about being a JW is about shirking normal responsibilities (if your "spiritual")

  Pioneering is EASY, being an ELDER is easy. (compared to real life)

  It's all simple makework in which you are not graded on, evaluated, or accountable in any meaningful way.

  You are praised for wasting your time doing nothing.

  LongHairGal - Thanks for the well wishes, I appreciate it! Getting out of the cult around 50, never having saved, or planned for the future makes a game of catchup only possible if I strike gold:)

  I am just happy I got out before my kids (we had them late cuz keeping kingdom interests first) were damaged and would have missed out on a normal life.

  "Just slaving for the lord" = Just wasting time, being lazy, and peeling off calendar days till the Big A comes!

  THEN - we can all Live in a big house with a Stream running through it!

  Boys pre-teen sexuality / erections.? Why ? If only for procreation ?

  this has been a bug bear my whole life i think and not really sure how to address it as nobody else ever seems to do so.. and it relates to the question if god really created humans .

  he did a shithouse job in this regard.. i can`t speak for females this is entirely a male thing.

  from my perspective.. male adolescents at a very ,very young age , babies , get erections periodically and it has nothing to do with sexual fantasies ,because they don`t even have an awareness of sex between a male and a female at this time.. and it is second inbuilt nature to masturbate to relieve, get rid of the erection .

  I dont know about you guys - But I try to be Holy about my body and my Erections.

  As soon as I get one, I make sure I get rid of it as fast as possible.!
  Satan be gone!!!!

  Well in 10 or 15 minutes there abouts, depending if there I am near my computer or not.

  Never let them go to waste, you dont know how many you have left :)

  I must say I do have some good memories of being a Pioneer.

  FYI - I mostly hated door to door, hated it.

  But I LOVED hanging out with some friends who also pioneered.

  I loved hanging out with my wife who was a pioneer.

  I loved breaks!!!! It was not hard to have many of them:)

  I LOVED HAVING NO RESPONSIBILITY!
  It was not only OK to work very little, and live in my inlaws home, but I was PRAISED FOR IT!!!

  It was like being a Teenager still!!

  Being a JW makes it easy to IGNORE normal Responsibilities and Feel Great About It!

  Of course - now it is amazingly painful because I WASTED MY LIFE - and I am in a horrible Financial Mess in my 50 because of it.

  i have been basically awake since 2013. i have a super dub wife that i love and don’t want to lose and my sick mom in the hall that is a true believer.

  stupid religion has gotten between my wife and i (of course).

  The Jehovah's Witnesses announced plans to build a 1.5 million-square-foot audio-visual production center in Upstate New York, two miles away from the Witnesses' headquarters in Warwick. The organization plans to create more videos with parenting device, despite a recent bombshell investigation alleging wide-scale child abuse and coverups.

  Robert Zick, a Jehovah's Witnesses spokesman, told The Times Herald-Record that the media center is a response to the general public's growing increase of interest in the Jehovah's Witnesses' videos, specifically ones offering parenting advice and how to live a principled life. New content is planned to be available in multiple languages.

  The organization's outreach is now supplementing its traditional door-to-door approach by putting more money and manpower behind producing online content in response to the rise and reach of social media platforms.

  "We're ramping up production in response to heavy demand" of audio-visual offerings, Zick said. "People find these materials to be useful, so we're putting more resources behind them, and we're putting everything under one roof."

  It won't just be audio and visual equipment under that roof—the Witnesses are also designing the new media center to be livable. It will have residences, a fitness center and underground parking.

  Currently approximately 1,000 volunteers live and work in the 1.6-million-square-foot headquarters. An additional 1,000 volunteers are expected to take up residency in the new center once it is finished.

  It might take up to five years for the complex to be completed. At the organization's annual meeting on October 5, it was announced that construction will begin in 2022 and finish at the end of 2026.

  (c) A person who uses the word “bitch” directed at another person to accost, annoy, degrade or demean the other person shall be considered to be a disorderly person in violation of this section, and shall be subject to the penalties provided in subsections (a) and (b). A violation of this subsection may be reported by the person to whom the offensive language was directed at or by any witness to such incident.

  I remember being on the other side after working a full weekend in RBC construction at Bossart hotel in the 80's with my JW buddies and asking people, "what is that sign, watchtower".

  We would get some funny responses.

  Of course at the time, we were filled with righteousness that we knew all those people were blind, and probably gonna die any day now at the BIG A!

  during the first talk tonight, the brother giving the talk indicated that now comments were to include sisters!

  previously mostly only brothers were mentioned in most prayers or comments - has anyone else heard this tonight?.

  the meeting seemed to be positioned directly to and about sisters.

  If you are interested in how the WT does things in China, its the only real window into that world I have ever seen.

  She is great!
