Complexity, Evolutionists Biggest Problem

recently, some scientists modeled one of the simplest known cells - that of a bacteria.

it took an army of 128 computers running for 10 hours to process the data required in the 25 categories of molecules that are involved in this "simple cells'" life processes.

think about that for a moment - 128 computers running for 10 hours just to compute the data, not actually do it mind you; but just to model the known processes in one of the simplest known cells, which is many orders of magnitude simpler than a human cell.

Complexity, Evolutionists Biggest Problem.........There literally isn't enough time in the universe to accomplish what Evolutionists propose.

You know SB, I'm probably the fly in the ointment on this site, I finally got my 2nd degree which is in Science, majored in Biology and took several classes in microbiology.

Yet I'm not a full fledged proponent of evolution. I consider it a good probability because it explains all the suffering and blood mayhem in the world.

I am at this moment more bent on intelligent design.

But hold on a moment----I know what you're thinking

I'm not saying I believe in an Omniscient, Omnipotent, Benevolent, "Being that" lives forever and ever.

I'm saying that perhaps some "Mortal Being or Beings" with a higher level of intelligence than humans at the moment of creation of life on earth---------are responsible for the life on earth.

Not because these Beings always existed, but because they lasted long enough to figure out how to arrange the DNA Sequences necessary for life.

We as a human species are on our way to learn the same thing if we make it that far without exterminating ourselves.

A lot of people in my generation actually hold this as a real possibility. We don't subscribe to the "Default Belief" of ONE GOD.

We distinguish between GOD and CREATOR!

We were born in a time when the Bible was accessible in many versions and free to read and investigate what it says without input from other humans.That's how we've come to the conclusion that the bible God is not what Christians say he is.

Ever seen the movie Prometheus? Bet they didn't have these type of movies in the 50s. Because people weren't there yet.

Animal suffering, Christianity’s biggest problem.

human life is infused with pain.. but animal life is “define by pain.. animals in the wild are subject to endless torment from all angles of their existence.

wild dogs disembowel their prey, venomous snakes cause slow internal bleeding and paralysis.

crocodiles drown large animals in their jaws.. and animals also suffer from rampant disease, dehydration, and starvation, and have to contend with forest fires and floods, harsh winters and blistering heat.

I have also been reading about Schopenhauer recently snd he’s another very thoughtful snd nuanced atheist. He argues that everything in the world is exactly as it must be.

I'm familiar with Schopenhauer, but I'm not familiar with his view that;

everything in the world is exactly as it must be.

Is he saying the same thing Alex is saying, that life has evolved just so? Or is he alluding to something else?

For the most part, the JW religion is diminishing and in another generation or less it will be a shadow of its former self and will either be a smaller online religion or it will go into obscurity like other American sects of the past.

The only thing I don't like about this idea, is that I won't have the opportunity to gloat on the faces of all those over-righteous pompous men and women who believed they were on a higher plane than the rest of us

The number of wild animals is immense. And all of them are under the un-airing supervision of an All Powerful, All Loving God. Yet despite this, all of them likely experience more fear, devastation and suffering in their lifetime than we human-beings are even capable of imagining.

This is the problem Christians face. How can an All Powerful, All Loving God permit such insidious -unthinkable, levels of suffering?

The excuses made to defend God are just ridiculous.

Excuse number one by William Lane Craig, Christian Theologian;

Animals are part of a broader ecosystem in which the human drama is played out. Such ecosystem must be balance and it is no accident that every ecosystem must involve predators and prey.

For example, in Canada the absence of predators caused an overpopulation of Caribou herds because there was no one to pick off the diseased and aged, which in turn led to overpopulation, overgrazing, and starvation of many Caribou.

The authorities introduced wolves into the area and the Caribou started diminishing and the problem was solved because God made animal life this way so it would work.

Here is the problem.

Are we expected to believe that an All Knowing, All Powerful, God of love couldn’t have made these ecosystem laws differently? Is GOD CONSTRAINED BY THESE LAWS?

That’s the implication when they say the ecosystem MUST BE BALANCE THIS WAY.

In other words they are saying:

GOD COULDN’T CREATE AN ECOSYSTEM USING OTHER LESS PAINFUL METHODS!

Instead, why didn’t God limit the number of times animals reproduce preventing overpopulation.

Because the only way it will work is if God SAVES these animals from starving, by letting them being ripped apart and eaten alive by predators before they have a chance to starve.

That being the case, why don’t we follow God example! Today. There are millions of elderly sickly people all around the earth who are starving. Why not introduce wild Bears and hyenas to rip them apart, maul them to pieces, and eat them alive so we can save them from starvation and curb overpopulation.

Instead of making up all these excuses for GOD, let’s consider REALITY.

What would we expect to find if we assumed there is no GOD, and animals in nature were just randomly mutating and evolving and competing for resources WITH NO DIVINE GUIDANCE?

Well we would expect EXACTLY WHAT WE OBSERVE IN THE REAL WORLD----A MESSY BLOODBATH and a STRUGGLE FOR SURVIVAL.

And what would we expect to see if we assumed the existence of an ALL LOVING -ALL POWERFUL GOD?

THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF WHAT WE SEE TODAY.

Think about someone who is physically sick and is running a high fever. If we spend a lot of time with that person, we will probably catch the same sickness.

So if your child-----or wife----or parent, is very- very sick and needs constant attention or else she will die, then according to the Governing Body, it's better if we leave her to her own demise and save ourselves!

I would call that wicked instead of wise.

we have, in much less than a century, managed to fill the earth with so much plastic waste that tiny fragments of plastic have been found on the highest mountains and the deepest ocean depths.

not satisfied with doing that, we stupidly continue to do it.

All I can say is I wish I was God-------because if I was, I would start making changes RIGHT NOW!

And I wouldn't go through all the bullshit of inspiring men to write a book with puzzles, dragons, magical fruit, and the generation that would not pass away until you saw all these things.

Did The Witnesses Mess Up Your Sex Life?

most of the witnesses i knew never really talked about sex.

whatever couples did was pretty much kept quiet.

every once in a while a wife might complain to the elders or a friend that the husband is too demanding or even immoral because of the sex practices the husband wanted.

Sex is part of our nature whether we are jws, catholic, atheist, etc.

What "INDIVIDUALS" chose to label certain sexual rituals and positions is a culture or ideology "Thing"

I don't see how Sex can messed up someone life.

I can see how some might consider certain facets of sex as being wrong while other consider it good. But refraining or indulging in certain aspects of sex shouldn't lessen the wonderful ONE TIME GIFT of life.

All of them were elderly and had some underline medical condition that was already taking their life away. Including the young ones that died.

So when someone died of cancer--it was attributed to the Covid virus because of the publicity that politicians around the world wanted to spread to take advantage of the power grab, the medical experts who wanted their two minutes of fame, and big pharma and Corporations who saw an opportunity to cash in.

so yesterday while i was doing some work for a customer, i noticed the wt mags on the sofa.

and i asked the elderly man if he was a jehovah witness?.

he said that he and his wife and all his children were raised in the religion, but only he and his wife attend the meetings or zoom.

This is the decision I made when in my late 50's, and would do the same again, but that is just me. I think people should do what they feel is right for them.

In my opinion 50s is still kind of young. Before covid, I used to play basketball with a bunch of 50 year old guys. And some of them looked thirtyish and had girlfriends in their 20s.

But 80ish is a different story. By that time you've had a Good Run and are now just waiting for the inevitably. At this point you are now looking back at the good old days and pondering over the good memories. If you have a wife you start worrying about her if you die first. Yet at the same time you dread seeing her get sick, in pain and finally dying.

At this point I'm assuming that being IN or OUT of the WT doesn't really matter.
