Feels more like a cult

so i grew up around this religion and never liked it.

nothing ever made sense and nobody ever clarified anything if i asked them a question.

i'm 17 right now so you'd figure oh only one more year until you can leave.

anyway i just came here to rant about that and ask anyone how they told their parents that they wanted to leave this religion. thanks

I didn't tell my parents anything. I just left at around 18, got several part times jobs that paid shit but kept food on the table and rent money. I lived in a shitty apartment for around 6 years, went to school during this time, Slept about 4 hours every day for about 6 years. Didn't get involved with girls, hobbies, or friends, during this time because I needed to focus on finishing school and getting a better job. If you get involved with girls, drugs, alcohol, ect, you will delay your education and might wind up a loser and with nothing or very little by the time you hit 40.

I also cut of all jws friends at 18 and never looked back. I was focus on school. In the meantime I lucked out and got a plumbing job. I started digging ditches and unclogging toilets full of shit, The boss saw I was a hard worker and always on time on the job and never said no to nasty jobs. He started teaching me how to weld, electrical, and some construction.

10 years later I got my plumber's master license, my degree, and started my own plumbing business. Today I got my own family a house paid for, enough money to retire if I wanted and I'm not even 40 yet.

If you want to be successful you first need to cut off all Jehovah related stuff, meaning all jw friends and acquaintances. Stay away from them, they just mess up your future. Also no PIMO shit just to keep communication with family, as it just slows your progress. If your family is wiling to cut you off for not following their religion, then find another family and don't look back

The only other thing not jw related that can mess up your life is a Bad woman, drugs, alcohol. and committing a crime and you wind up in jail or prison for several years.

Good luck, and remember, no one is coming to your rescue, you are on your own. So you got to focus on yourself and get good at something and educated, now that you are young and can work like hell and need very little sleep. You need to decide what you want to do with your life,NOW------either have your own business, or be a doctor, a lawyer, an engineer, or whatever. But you need to start as soon as you are 18 or you will waste precious time.

Do you realize how many single people have been without sex for the past 8 months!!!!!

One jw girl made the comment; "I'm never gonna get laid" Then she was reproved by her parents for saying such a thing, but at the same time they are very worried she is going to leave the "truth". At least that's what I was told by one of her relatives. There is no secrets in the organization

Then I encouraged my jw friend to go after her because he has been in love with her for who knows how long, and she won't last long because she has all the genes in the right place and just turned 18. So he called her up and asked her if she would be willing to have some coffee with him at Starbucks. She said yes!!!

My friend said after the first date at Starbucks they sat in his car and kissed and he couldn't help himself and just touched all her legs from the ankles all the way to the top----and she let him. When he left the car he said they were both dying and needed more. So they are getting married in a few weeks.

I warned him-----"don't tell anyone you caressed her legs or I guarantee you the wedding will be called off."

He agreed!

anyone know or hear of what will be changed for 2020 due to the pandemic?

even my pimi family (i am pimo) is scratching their heads wondering why we are still reviewing content from 2017-2019 that talk about all the future plans, field service, etc etc etc....that have all been derailed due to covid-19.

I'm actually pretty close to your age. I also was born in and in my mid teens I started figuring out that my religion was pretty much a scam. I didn't make a big issue out of it considering I still lived at home and wasn't even legally able to get a job. So i just went along for the ride until I was ready to leave the nest and fly the coupe.

At 18 I left home, got several part time jobs, went to college and to be honest, looking back, I have no idea how I made it. I could of planned better. Perhaps stay at home until I finished college.

I know the feeling of being disgusted with the whole thing, but now you have to start looking at life in reality. Basically you are on your own and nobody is coming to help you---so you have to start getting smart and planning your every step towards a Nice future.

In real life you play the game when with your enemies, until you have the power and means to leave and care for yourself. --------But wait, -------there is no hurry, and thus you got plenty of time to "Learn" to live with the disgusting Watchtower Organization until you are able to leave.

So if you must meet with the elders, now is an excellent time to start sharping up your skills and FOOLING THEM-------- Just like they have fooled you all these years. That's Right,----Now It's Your Turn to do the fooling, and believe me, elders are some of the most stupid men you will ever meet.

Remember they still believe the Watchtower is God's True Organization he is using on earth---------WHILE YOU HAVE JUST FIGURED IT ALL OUT AT 20.

I also visit exjw reddit since most there are around my age. Guess what, there are over 55,000 PIMO jws over there between the ages of 13-30, majority------and we also have some older ones who also have waken up.

HELL------he just admitted what we all know----- that a body of people, more than likely, some influential members of government agencies -------or the military,------ is involved in the secret manipulation or control of government policy, and Trump is in the way.

There is a war already in process in the United States and the majority of citizens can't see it. It is a war for control of the entire Country and it's military assets.

Actually several of us in my area have been watching this very closely with Trump and those doing everything possible, legally and illegally to remove him but so far have failed.

How far will they go even if he wins to remove him????

Historicity of the Prophets

for many years i have sought to understand how the bible was put together.. thus my name on here.

i started out more or less in line with what many schoolars felt in both old and new testament studies and over the year my notes have flucuated with dates and probable authorship.

a few years ago i slid into minimalist or copenhagen school understanding of the texs but still retained a slight historicity of the prophets.
