JWs don’t use the apocryphal, yet source them

so a quick little note about a few things that i recently learned.

if you ever had the yellow book of bible stories, there was the story of enoch, also repeated in other watchtower publications, about the angels fathering giants and being a menace on earth.

now if you look at the nicean bible, which is the wtbts selection of the bible, it mentions enoch twice and only has a very brief passage about nephilim and ben elohim.

Question is why they rejected them, especially since the Dead Sea Scrolls indicates those books were very much in circulation amongst Christians ca 100BC and have to date existed amongst Ethiopian Churches (one of the earliest churches still in existence)

The men running the WT, (Governing Body, and perhaps others) are not so much interested in finding out what the truth is, but instead more inclined in CREATING THEIR OWN TRUTH.

A good example of this is their latest teaching regarding "THEIR IDEA" of how the resurrection is going to proceed.

A gay person that dies gay will be resurrected gay and little by little the gay will be removed depending on his progress in obedience.

There is no biblical information or other ancient historical references alluding that the resurrection will proceed in such a way.

Everyone has a certain way of extrapolating information from the past, and this is how these men work in dispensing their theological views upon their members.

The members love their ideas and continue to support the information they come up with.

i'm going to take a wild stab in the dark here and guess that the watchtower is having a wonderful time over the whole ukraine situation.

is the whole " end of times " thing being pushed again to bring dissidents back into line .

they must be seeing as a gift from above .

The reason he gets a pathetically low amount from SS was because he worked part-time! In order to get a decent benefit from SS a person needs to work full-time for decades.

What I have found out is that if a person works full time for 35 years and a good salary, he can collect maximum amount of $4,194 a month or $50,328 a year, if you wait till 70 to collect. On top of this once you hit 65 years of age, you get free Medicare to pay for health if you get the right plan. And if you are smart and have you home paid off by the time you retire, you can life a very comfortable life till it's over.

Even if you don't get the highest salary, you can still do good just with social security alone, if you work full time. I personally think that is a pretty good deal considering that many Countries don't have anything like Social Security.

And I know single persons that are living life like kings just on social security alone. I'm not a bible believer but even that book gave sound advice that JWs should of taken to heart instead of listening to 8 old fools in New York

(Proverbs 6:6-8) . . .Go to the ant, you lazy one; see its ways and become wise. 7 Although it has no commander, officer or ruler, 8 it prepares its food even in the summer; it has gathered its food supplies even in the harvest.

Pioneering was such a waste of time and I feel sorry for all those jws that just weren't smart enough to figure it out.

Well, now these Witnesses have reached retirement age and Armageddon hasn’t come yet. They are panicked.

A few weeks back I ran into this JW who was picking up trash in a parking lot. I know he was a JW because he started witnessing to me about the end being close according to the bible.

I asked his age because he was elderly and struggling to walk. He told me he would be the BIG 90 this year and his wife was 75 years old. I guess he married a sister 15 years younger. That wouldn't matter if he had money but I guess he was poor but SPIRITUALLY STRONG.💪

I wished him a happy birthday and he told me right away he didn't celebrate birthdays.

I asked him what in the hell was he doing working at this age? He said he only got 400 plus a month from social security and that was it. I guess he worked part time because I know some Non-jw that didn't start a retirement but they still get over $2000 a month in social security because they worked full time, plus medicare.

I wonder how many of that generation are having to deal with this problem??

They are accusing truckers of trying to OVERTHROW the Canadian government like some tried to over throw the USA government on Jan 6 2021.
