btw.. my Dads excuse for this is.. time and unforseen occurences, if he saved everyone then JWs would be perfectly safe and everyone would want to join for the wrong reasons... Yeah I know.. OMFG. Their bizarre reasoning is crazy. Remove the tree but let the carload of pioneers die in a freak accident, yeah way to choose the better miracle to perform!!

Steve2 put it the best 'small scale tripe in a world of tragedy and trauma'.
This thread is one of the biggest problems I had with the org. Since I was around 10yrs old I had trouble with these stupid 'experiences'. We also had the CO read them out to us about 6 yrs ago.
God helps them build KH's easily or cheaply but little 'unfaithful' children die everyday from starvation and disease?
There is no way God is doing anything for anyone IMHO. For some reason he is sitting back folding his arms and just watching it all play out down here.
The last bunch of stupid 'experiences' the CO gave us made me ask my parents why the poor little boy in Australia died on the way to the meeting when someone ran a red light, why didnt God keep the family home that night. Or the teenage boy in the UK had just finished witnessing and went to the shop for sweets on the way home when a car drove through the shop. Why couldnt god have kept him on that last door just 2 minutes longer. (Although having said that, he died because of his refusal of a blood transfusion).
There is NO WAY a loving God would be miraculously intervening in some situations to save time or money and not actually help someone about to die?
This site is so good to get a feel for what really stilll disturbs you about the org. I am really angry about this topic... Something I gonna need to work through.

Introduction
by dontplaceliterature inbefore i begin my introductory post, i would like to mention that a number of my initial comments here may be viewed by several of you as watchtower apologist or as sympathetic to the views of the jehovahs witnesses.
the last thing i want to do is incite a flame war regarding my legitimacy or intentions in joining this forum.
mostly, i would describe myself as on the fence.

I enjoyed reading this thread and would love to know how DPL's jouney has gone since starting it a year ago. Sounds like he might have read athiests book of bible stories... lol (saying that the bible is a fantasy book)

Faith without works is dead?
by jemba inmy crazy brainwashed parents have devoted their lives to this cult, to the detriment of their children.
i recently told my mum that i needed to stop anything jw because of the anxiety and depression it has caused me for over 30 years.
she said 'oh well if thats what you have to do... but you know armaggedon is just around the corner and jehovah expects us to toe the line... faith without works is dead.'.

Thanks everyone for your great ideas. Yes Fernando I will be just asking questions not telling her the answers. .She wont know how to answer them. She will then go to Dad, the PO and he will have to also think about it. Cool....

No pity for this stupid elder, but the poor kids. If he wanted to poison them properly you'd think hed come up with something better than weedkiller.
Once again sorry no live link- Mozilla firefox, it allows me to post but no cut n paste facilities.

questions that defy JW logic No bible needed just a working brain
by thecrushed ineven before awakening from the mind control my mind would plague me with doctrine defying logic.
i'd like to share some of my self explanatory questions here.
every time i'd ask jw's these questions they would give me bs answers like we will have to wait on jehovah to tell us in the new system or some other lamo thinking stopper.

Out of respect I didnt argue with her that day as I did just drop a bombshell and I was staying in her home for their anniversary party, as I live a 40 drive away. Ive thought many times what I would loved to have said to her.
What would you have said?.. What scriptures and reasoning would counteract this kind of argument?.

Welcome BrotherPrince,
I too was in the same place you are one year ago. I was a born in and most of my family are in so I worry about losing them if Im DF. I still believed many of the doctrines but was pushed away by nasty people and stupid unloving practices like DF, no Birthday celebrations and the hoops you have to jump through to make friends, very conditional love - they can turn it on and off like a tap.
It is actually very comforting to learn that God doesnt require you to be part of an organisation. These are not true christians by the way they treat others, homophobic, judgemental, xenophobic and mysogonistic etc.
It is so liberating to break free mentally as well as physically from them. I can truly say I have never felt this happy, free and no longer under a cloud of depression and anxiety because of guilt, fear and never feeling good enough.
Feel free to ask questions on this forum there are many good hearted and kind people here.
Thankyou for sharing your story Bro'... Im glad youre questioning things at a young age and not waiting till youre married in the Org with Kids and its so much more complicated.
