  Theres gonna be a hell of a lot of 'you cant do this, and you cant do that' going on on that weekend!!

  I feel so sorry for the poor young people dragged along to that crapfest! Im so glad my kids are out of that lifestyle.

  I took my 8 yr old to a concert last night and after 1/2hr of thoroughly entertaining music which he was enjoying he just couldnt keep still any longer. It was in the same place our conventions are held and it made me think about how I used to make him sit through 3 days of that total BS!

  I had trouble seeing how Prov 6:20 " observe o my son the commandments of your father, and do not forsake the law of your mother." Really pointed to the FDS as being mother. Theyre so weird.

  Billy that was hilarious. I couldnt believe what id just said when I said it out loud. ROFL

  Apostates defeated once again.....

  before the mentally diseased apostates could get their hands on and dissect any information regarding the convention that hadn't been released to regular publishers/elders...the society released the district program on the official site completely and utterly slaying every single demented apostate on the face of the earth.

  now have fun dissecting it kiddos, while we big kids get a taste of solid, spiritual meet this summer.

  continue drowning in misery while god's people go on rejoicing and enduring these last days.

  Something about ner ner ner ner ner gives me the creeps.

  He/she is no doubt carefully checking all posts. In fact this thread so far has been viewed 1545 times.... 1300 of those were probably 'ner-ner'. the hateful, judgemental attitude just jumps off the page! So JW like of them!!

  Enjoy wasting your time, effort, money and life at the convention, I'll be sleeping in and going to the beach with my family without a care in the world cause I know its all a load of BS and my conscience has been cleaner for leaving that stupid cult!.... Jealous much?

  Worst Thing Youve Done In A Meeting?

  whats the worst thing youve done during a meeting?

  years ago, when i was a bit more wicked/naughty/younger than i am now, i thought i would take some drugs just prior to the meeting to see if it would make things any more interesting.

  it didnt, but at least i enjoyed the kingdom melodies tapping my foot to the beat and bopping my head!!

  When I was 13 I was so totally in love with Scott and so was another girl in the cong. He didnt know we existed. So I scratched 'I love Scott' in a big love heart on the door of the ladies toilet. The gossip was that the other girl did it. lol... I never stopped feeling guilty about that one.

  I also short changed the book study contribution box which was at our house a couple times. Every now and then if we needed change of a note our family would use it. I took advantage. I probably ended up about $10 richer. Still feel bad about that.

  Another contribution box story... I wrote 'F... OFF' on a piece of paper and slipped it into the contribution box at the hall, all the while having the big kingdom smile on my face. Its only as an adult that I realized I may have been the only 'contributor' that day. lol

  My sister scraped someones car in the KH carpark and quickly drove off.

  got wasted at a party with worldly friends to take my mind off things.

  anyone else use drink as a coping mechanism?.

  Love what you said to the elders 'independentthinker'. Please be careful with alcohol though as when you are having problems it is addictive and alcoholism is not something you want to add to your problems. I hope you have supportive friends and family.

  this story happened in my hometown in a hall i helped build years ago.

  its no wonder this sort of thing happens, this guy was probably desperate and vunerable when he got df'd.

  no pity for this stupid elder, but the poor kids.

  Blindnomore I am so sorry for your loss. You made very pertinent comments to this thread and in no way hijacked it.

  My reason for posting that link was to show just how dangerous DF/JCs can be for everyone involved. In this case the danger was to the Elders family.

  Unfortunately in Blindnomore's case it was the life of her precious Daughter.

  They dont seem to understand that their imperfect human judgements on people can have far reaching consequences.

  A lovely Sister here was facing a JC and killed herself leaving 6 children behind.

  I for one certainly like to see things like this in the media because it gives people an insight into JWs stupid practices - even if the DF guy was totally in the wrong. It highlights the reason that he became unhinged.

  Have you read Athiests book of bible stories or similar and still believed the bible is the word of God?

  i had never questioned things in the bible.

  i often thought something was strange considering jehovah was supposed to be so loving.

  but never thought to see the bible as anything other than my jw upbringing taught me.. i now think the bible is a bunch of fairytales and have a whole lot less respect for the creator... if there is one..

  A Brother Died At Bethel

  i got a text from my mom when i got into work today saying that a brother i've known for a while had died.

  he was a bethelite and they found him dead in his room.

  he was the same age as me.

  So sorry to hear this far too often repeated story.

  I personally knew 4 witnesses who suicided and a few others that didnt succeed. The latest was a sister with 6 kids facing a JC. Not only do the elders not have the skills to deal with people so depressed they often cause more anxiety. Way too much stress in that organisation.

  Hopefully for the family it wasnt suicide. 23 is so young.
