We were close friends with an elder and his wife. My Hubby didnt go preaching so I usually went with them. They were both huge gossipers and so I heard some of the nastiest stuff happening in the cong from the horses mouth. Especially the Elder, he would go to town on those he didnt like, telling me things like sisters selling their bodies for pioneering money, brothers with porn and masturbation problems, marital problems, who had an affair with whom and how it was hushed up because of their congregational status etc. I soon came to realise that it wasnt just others they were talking about. Gossip soon got around about my Husband and that he had a drinking problem, I had confided in the elder that I was worried about Hubby as he had a really bad JW family life eg. pedophilia, violence and drug abuse-by his parents and siblings and had hit the bottle hard for a few weeks. For Gods 'true' people they can be absolute scum!!!

by Gojira_101 ini thought of one that happened to me, i think i was 16 and regular pioneering at the time.
i was in fs with my friend, i think she had to be about 18, and we were in a van with older married sisters, my friend and i were the only single ones.
there were 6 of us in this van and my friend and i of course were forced to sit in the back (meaning we couldn't escape by jumping out of a moving van), anyway, the conversation turned to discussing molestation.. the two oldest sisters sitting in the front then started going into detail about how they had been molested, and it wasn't just "i was molested by..." no they went into detail.. i was shocked!

JWs Lack of Love and Feelings
by jemba ini have noticed the extreme lack of love in this group of people who preach love, love, love.. we recently had serious floods come through our area and the jws couldnt have cared less.
our 'worldly' friends did sooo much for us though.
raising money, giving gifts, cards, accomodation and so much support and hard work.. i personally think jws are one of the most insensitive, uncaring religions around.. three religious groups were absolutely wonderful during the flooding of our area.

Wow, littlerockguy, that is such a 'loving' paragraph from that botchtower..... How special JWs must feel reading that crap.
Kassad84- it really is that simple... normal loving feelings are bred out of JWs at a young age, after all "those worldlies are gonna die anyway". "No use feeding them when they really need spiritual food".
If you had been a JW for nearly 40 years and been to lots of different congs in different states you would soon start to see a common denominator of very little fellow feeling and love for each other and especially for worldy people.
Even dubs I know will tell you that the love of the greater number is cooling off and they notice a lot of unloving, selfish, greedy people among the flock.
So if we are generalising here, maybe you can set us straight?

Yes Julia we are in the Bundy area. Because we have faded we dont really want too much info out there as most of our families are still 'in'.
I love Picklers post on page one its so true the difference between how worldly people treat others and the way JWs just turn off and dont care.
If they truly wanted us to come back wouldnt this have been the perfect opportunity to show love and kindness?

Three religious groups were absolutely wonderful during the flooding of our area. They gave out cash, big food hampers, clothes, counselling and loving support... Now thats LOVE!
Even my own uber-dub parents really didnt care much and as wealthy as they are didnt offer us a cent.

I called the police.
by LouBelle ini stay at my grandmother's house and pay a little rent to her (r500) as it is all i can afford.
i do however buy and take care of all my own food, washing etc.. this morning at 6 am, my bedroom door opend, slammed shut, heard the key turn a couple of times, open and slam shut again.
i woke up with a fright as that has never happened....first thought is someone is in the house.

Glad to hear youre ok Loubelle. Sorry you are in such a bad situation. At least you must be a comfort to your Gran while you are living there. What right does your Grandfather have to the house? If you say its not his place? Is his name on the lease? Maybe you could end up kicking him out. That would be a better solution for everyone.
