I agree with InterestedOne.
If us kids (born-in) ever complained about anything theocratic my parents would say 'well you have much better parents thanks to Jehovah, if we werent in the truth we would still smoke, swear and drink heavily and Dad would still be in the Navy away most of the year.'
My parents highlighted the 'safe, moral' side of the org. Boy if only that were true.
They forgot the part about the guilt, fear and self esteem problems arising from never being good enough for the org and always coming second to everyone and everything else in the org.
Oh and my non JW parents would never have shunned me because I would have a proper place in their lives as their daughter not as someone they begrudgingly had to raise in a stupid cult.
