  Living in a small town I deliberately discourage long term RVs that I know and tell them what a horrible cult it was to grow up in. If you are just a fader and want to stay under the radar a printout in their letterbox would be a good idea... maybe entitled "SO YOURE STUDYING TO BECOME A JW". JWfacts has some good ones.

  shawn, it's very difficult & sad to come to this decision, but because of your attitude towards the truth & us personally (thinking that we are stupid) we're going to treat you as a disfellowshipped person from now on.

  actually, you're worse than them because usually they know they have not kept their oath to jehovah & don't speak abusively of the organization and don't turn apostate.

  Wow what a predicament ES sorry you have to face this. Good luck with what ever you choose to do.

  This is a very unfair situation she has put you in. When I was 15 my parents made me choose between a roof over my head and the cult, I had to leave. It was hard but I stuck to my guns, no one was forcing their religion on me. In your situation it may be easier to pretend to concede a little, your livelihood is at stake.

  Have you ever heard a talk on child molestation following a judicial reproof?

  when someone is reprimanded by a judicial commitee there is usually a talk given to the congregation about issues that leads to serious sins.

  sometimes that talk takes you by surprise because the reproof was private and no announcement was made to the congregation.

  other times you figure out why an individual was the object of a judicial commitee...i heard talks on the usage of drugs, cigarettes, pornography, bad forms of intertainment, fornication, adultery, fraud, gambling, disapproved medical treatments...but never on child abusers and mostly how to protect your children against this terrible crime.. do you think the reason there is never mention of child abuse is that if many knew there is a child molester in their midst they would pressure the elders to go to the autorities?

  Would You Listen To A Prayer From A JW And Say Amen If They Said A Prayer In Your Presence?

  my mom has had visits from various jws and they have asked her if they could say a prayer before they left.

  i respectfully listened to the prayers while i was visiting and might silently say amen if i felt the prayer was appropriate for my mom.. i'm just curious, how would you handle this type of situation?.

  No diff than when I was in. Sit if everyone else stands and check out what everyone else does during the prayer, oh and pull faces at little kids. lol. I never believed in prayer, seriously, does anyone actually think that God is interested in their butt kissing? God cannot and will not 'answer' prayers.
