It is indeed educational. I always thought nonce was like "nong" in Australia, someone who's not very bright. I didn't realise that it had a very specific and very negative definition.

Obvious OT Exception to the Two Witness "Rule"
by NotFormer inin the torah, where the need for sanctuary cities is being established, a hypothetical situation is described where a bloke is swinging an axe, and the axe head flies off and kills another bloke.
the dead man's brother is designated "the avenger" and pursues the original guy in order to kill him for being responsible for the death.
he is allowed to do so, if the original guy doesn't make it to a sanctuary city.

In the Torah, where the need for sanctuary cities is being established, a hypothetical situation is described where a bloke is swinging an axe, and the axe head flies off and kills another bloke. The dead man's brother is designated "the avenger" and pursues the original guy in order to kill him for being responsible for the death. He is allowed to do so, if the original guy doesn't make it to a sanctuary city. If both victim and the person who "manslaughtered" him are dead, then there are not two or three witnesses to establish the avenger's story, yet the avenger's testimony is accepted.
Yet WT still insists on two witnesses in a CSA case. 🙄🤢

I just googled the Paradise book, and imagine my surprise when I find someone trying to sell it on Amazon for more than $55 Australian!
Someone's also trying to flog the Reasoning from the Scriptures book for over $200! 😱

BTW, does "homosexual" mean "flamboyant" in JW speak? I don't personally see anything morally wrong with the way the bloke on the right is dressed in my comic. But then again, I was never under the esteemed tutelage of the GB. 🙄

The Limits on Taking Your Brother to Court
by NotFormer inhypothetical: a jw murders someone and the victim's spouse (also a jw) calls the police.
the spouse and the perpetrator are the only witnesses, and the perp is admitting nothing.
could the person who calls the police be disciplined for not calling the elders first?

Could the person who calls the police be disciplined for not calling the elders first? Or for "taking a brother to court"?
