This is another head scratcher for me. Why on earth did they choose the name of the city that represented false religion in the Bible?

Their tone-deafness has never ceased to amaze me. đł For every finger that they point, there are always several pointing back towards them.
Have they ever done a hit piece on the RC church, pointing out the cruelty of excommunication? đ

Why does the GB never get tagged with the "Running ahead of Jehovah" line?

"He reveals it gradually and at a time it is needed"
Like ratcheting back the shunning in the face of government interest? Like the pressures they're now facing over blood and the two witnesses rule in CSA cases?

Is The GB Paranoid? And Should They Be?
by NotFormer inthe gb seems to have a bunker mentality, that they are special, and that the world is out to get them, so they tend to keep within their tightly controlled, protective environment.
bottlegate proved that there is some danger outside of the rarified atmosphere of their echo chamber; you never know when a camera might be trained on you, or that someone might recognise you as being something more than plain old "joe citizen".
further, tm3's new address was quickly found and distributed, and (as i understand it) someone drove to his gated community to tell the security guard that tm3's "ass is grass".

Vidiot: "Simply the fact that they can keep on doing it without having a nervous fucking breakdown"
I wonder how medicated they are?
Bottlegate suggests that Tony may have been self-medicating (that is if all those bottles were for him. Diogenesister made the point that he could have been stocking up for a large party, eg. a major anniversary, which is not outside the realms of possibility).
The GB's medical records would be interesting; does Vidiot's hypothesised "they know it's wrong but believe it's true" situation translate into mental health issues that medication can make "go away" to some extent? We'll never see those, and they still are human beings with a certain right to privacy.
Still, it's interesting to speculate about some future time when the WT bunker is torn down (end of Nazi Germany, Soviet Union and Berlin Wall style) and the files released to historians. I imagine that the mental health of the GB and their administrative circle would make for some interesting theses.

My grandmother called my mother
by Anony Mous inso, iâm just posting this as a warning to lurking jws.
if youâre still on the fence, here is a story.. my grandmother, now in her 80s hasnât talked to anyone in the family for over 20 years ever since my mother was the last one of her children that left âthe truthâ, she had sent my mother a card to never talk to her again.
so here we are 21 years later, she gets a call out of the blue that she needed help, she hadnât been able to get into her kitchen.

So only kindness shown to the 144000, not the broad congregation, warrants God's favour?

There are plenty of biblical passages about wearing the consequences of your actions: sowing and reaping, for example. I wonder if they'll make the connection?

How do they reconcile their behaviour with the sheep đ and goats đ passage? The sheep đ were identified by how they treated the least of Jesus's brethren, especially visiting them when sick. Don't tell me, there's some f***ed up JW doctrine that only the anointed count as Jesus' brethren, so you can treat everyone else however you damned well like!

Thoughts on annual meeting ânew lightâ
by FFGhost inso, i finally saw the annual meeting video part 2.. this is the one with the ânew lightâ on who might survive armageddon, vs. those who do not.. in summary, for those of you fortunate enough not to have to sit through it, itâs something like this:.
old light: once the âgreat tribulationâ starts, thatâs it for non-jws.
the âdoor of the arkâ is closed.

ElderBerry: "The first talk Br Winder said something about Jehovah couldnât reveal all his plans to Abraham because he was too stupid. Or words to that effect which is very patronising to Abraham."
New light: The GB were too stupid to have everything fully revealed to them.

I've never understood why they were so meticulous about keeping records that they knew could be used against them if they ever came to light. If they wanted to keep everything on the QT, they should never have committed anything to writing.
