"Why use the WT terminology by calling yourself an apostate?"
It's usually the fastest way to get rid of them. Expedience over accuracy. It's the scariest word in their vocabulary. Garlic to vampires, and all that.
for the first time in ages.. a very elegantly dressed senior lady and a young chap.
but--it wasnt just having a leaflet thrust at me--it was a full blown "old style" presentation.
i stopped her going to far into it--by asking if they are jws--and told them i was an apostate.

as an educated guess, the august 2024 watchtower may be delayed because 2 complicated subjects need to be discussed in this issue which haven't yet been approved to be included in the revised shepherding textbook.
perhaps the revised shepherding textbook must be finalised before this watchtower is released publicly.. the 2 subjects may be as follows:.
how to shepherd and appoint brothers based on the removal of the hour requirements, getting to know the brothers instead (does this mean prioritising appointing men who have auxiliary pioneered during the co visit and campaigns or men who are regular pioneers?).
"The weirdest thing is that the announcement says that Sept. and Oct. 2024 WT study could be send even if August 2024 not.....and that if by Oct. 2024 is not yet available....congs. would receive further instructions...."
That suggests "something" , not "nothing".

jehovah’s witnesses fail to get state recognition in lithuania.
news2024.06.06 13:46. lithuanian lawmakers on thursday denied state recognition to the lithuanian jehovah’s witnesses religious community.. in total, 88 mps voted against granting jehovah’s witnesses state recognition, two were in favour, and three abstained.. according to the seimas, this community does not comply with the lithuanian constitution and its requirement that religious teachings and rituals be in accordance with the law and integrity.. the resolution says that the religious teaching of jehovah’s witnesses prohibiting blood transfusions is incompatible with the constitutional right to life of a human being and the right to state-guaranteed medical aid.. it also says that the community’s teaching prohibiting participation in the defence of the state with weapons or contribution to the defence of the state by non-military means encourages non-compliance with the constitution and its requirements to defend the state against a foreign armed attack.. read more: https://www.lrt.lt/en/news-in-english/19/2290924/jehovah-s-witnesses-fail-to-get-state-recognition-in-lithuania#:~:text=lithuanian%20lawmakers%20on%20thursday%20denied,in%20favour%2c%20and%20three%20abstained.
"The resolution says that the religious teaching of Jehovah’s Witnesses prohibiting blood transfusions is incompatible with the constitutional right to life of a human being and the right to state-guaranteed medical aid."
At least they didn't fall for the lie used on Bulgaria: "There are no sanctions by us if someone decides to get a blood transfusion". The resolution outright says that that teaching, i.e. the doctrine, is wrong and incompatible with the law.
The question is, is Lithuania important enough for the WT to backpedal on blood (and military service)? On its own it might not be. But there's always the possibility of a domino effect, where other states look at this precedent.
inside the brutal world of the jehovah’s witnesses.
since the royal commission exposed the cruel treatment of victims of child abuse within the jehovah’s witnesses, little has changed.
but in a landmark civil case, former member amy whitby is taking on the secretive religious group in court.
This episode of Four Corners is a few years old, BTW. Do we have an update on this case?
From the article: "A US-based Governing Body of eight men sits at the pinnacle of the Jehovah’s Witnesses organisation"
In the ABC's eyes being "US-based" and "men" already makes the GB guilty as sin. 😸

blondie: "Wow, never heard this happen before; and in the age of online technology"
Columbo rests his case.
It may not mean something, but it probably doesn't mean nothing.

Forgive up our trespasses, for trespasses will be persecuted.

Has a delay ever occurred before? Columbo once said something like "I'm always interested when someone does something for the first time".

Is that really a Watchtower cover? 🤔
1945 black and white photo of beth-shan (now hand colored):.
beth-shan house built in 1939, ten years after beth-sarim on adjacent property.
beth-shan, which means "house of security" in hebrew, was literally a house of security -(cult compound)*- it was accessed by a single dirt road that was guarded and gated.
"I know the whole thing is absolutely bonkers! If God can't protect the resurrected Moses, Abraham, Sarah and David etc from "poison bombs", what hope is there for anyone? Not to mention it's hardly a resurrection into Paradise if they'll have to hide away from famine and biological warfare, now, is it??!"
You as a little girl pointed out the logical fallacy of their version of paradise: you could still trip, fall and hurt yourself in eternal paradise.
And a JW at the door told me that people still die in the paradise earth.
i had a jw quote this scripture to me recently: “study to show yourself approved” - great scripture.
but when we point out that former wt leaders didn’t study and were high school drop outs (ct russell only made it to the 7th grade) franz was a college drop out with only 2 hrs.
in koine greek, we always get the same answer - the apostles weren’t educated men either.
"And when Christians point out flip flops in doctines like the organ transplant policy that unnecessarily took lives, JW’s point to a scripture that predicts Christians would be hated."
Which would prompt me to say "The stupid is strong in this one!" Even if they use such a verse, it points out the opposite of what they're trying to say: Christians are supposed to be hated because they're right, not because they're wrong. Flip-flopping on doctrine is wrong. Bad exegesis that causes unnecessary deaths is also wrong.
