I just googled the Paradise book, and imagine my surprise when I find someone trying to sell it on Amazon for more than $55 Australian!
Someone's also trying to flog the Reasoning from the Scriptures book for over $200! 😱

an enthusiastic new recruit attends the kingdom hall.
the elders aren't sure about his style of wardrobe.. does something like this ever really happen with new recruits?.
BTW, does "homosexual" mean "flamboyant" in JW speak? I don't personally see anything morally wrong with the way the bloke on the right is dressed in my comic. But then again, I was never under the esteemed tutelage of the GB. 🙄

"Cancelled"? Does that mean you can be DFed for telling it?? 🤔😱

And who holds a cigarette like that?
hypothetical: a jw murders someone and the victim's spouse (also a jw) calls the police.
the spouse and the perpetrator are the only witnesses, and the perp is admitting nothing.
could the person who calls the police be disciplined for not calling the elders first?

Could the person who calls the police be disciplined for not calling the elders first? Or for "taking a brother to court"?
it's an interesting thought.
if you are an ex jw, presumably dfed, and you see a current jw in good standing engaging in behaviour that would concern their elders, would you pass on that information to interested parties?
do accusations from exes and other outsiders carry any weight?

I personally doubt that any of the exes here care enough to do such a thing. After all, you left for many reasons, including the crappy way judicial committees treated people. Why would you stir anything up?
It's just an interesting thought I had based on the 1987 WT article about Mary using privileged information against a fellow congregant. Does testimony from a non JW third party count as evidence to a JC? Given that they don't even give credence to a police investigation as evidence, I'm guessing "No".
Thoughts?
it was an opinion of someone that to be a divorced, single sister i. the organization was the lowest social standing you can have.
why are they dispised?
( what if was a scriptural divorce where husband cheated?
Paul was harsh concerning the bloke who was sleeping with his father's wife. And the congregation took his words to heart. In 2 Corinthians, Paul seems to revisit the situation and suggests that the congregation are overdoing the church discipline. That the subjects of that discipline are showing signs of repentance and yet the congregation are still treating them badly instead of showing forgiveness and acceptance.
Unfortunately, the WT is only aware of the first point, and not the counterpoint, in their application of church discipline.

In its early days, marriage itself was frowned upon by the org. So I guess failed marriage was even more abhorrent in their eyes. And women have always been the org's whipping boy. So they are not going to be fair to women, if there's a chance of exercising prejudicial pressure.
are we living in the prophetic last days that will climax into armageddon?
if this is true then how long should it take?
as jw saw it, wt compared timing to within a generation using 70 ad as a parallel.
I had some JW ladies not deny that they were brainwashed; that the WT had washed their brains clean! 😱 BTW, they brought up the term "brainwashed", not me.
