My understanding from what I've read over the years is that the WT paints a picture of tertiary education being a school for worldliness. In reality, university life reflects society as a whole: it can be as debauched and party-oriented, or as sober and chaste as you make it. It's a pity that the WT's overarching scheme has been to depict anything outside their control as something horrible and frightening. I suppose it all fits against the backdrop of the WT being the Ark, and everything else being the doomed world outside.

How Do Jehovah's Witnesses View Education?
by southyukon ini have a question about this article.. https://www.jw.org/en/jehovahs-witnesses/faq/jw-education-school/.
higher education can lead to moral and spiritual dangers.
a bible proverb says: "the shrewd one sees the danger and conceals himself.

Just had a thought…
by Vidiot ini been reading quite a few experiences on reddit lately, and their seems to be a common theme coming up….
…dialed-up-to-eleven shunning of xjws by their witness relatives.. it reminds me of back in the day, listening to some of the over-the-top vitriol displayed by hard-core loyalists when the topic of evolution or apostates came up….
…i was gobsmacked when i finally realized these guys weren’t offended and indignant because they thought it was lies….

"I know many JWs who would claim: "But they (WTS/GB) have been right about everything else!"
"Such as what, you ask?"
"Trinity is untrue"
Christadelphians, Russell stole it from them.
"Soul is not immortal"
Again, stolen from the Christadelphians by Russell
"Hell is common grave (not Hell Fire)"
Stolen by Russell from Christadelphians
"Only group fulfilling Matt 24:14 (worldwide preaching)"
Most denominations have churches all over the world and outnumber JW membership.
'Only group remaining "no part of the world"'
Have they never heard of the Amish?
"Only group (widely) using the name "Jehovah" (vindication of God's name)"
House of Yahweh and Congregation of Yahweh (Jehovah is a scribal error from the thirteenth century)
"Displaying unequaled True Love of Brother (or Mankind)"
That's just laughable that they would call their disdain for anyone outside the WT "love"!
"Unparalleled growth (proof of Jah's Holy Spirit & blessing)"
Belt tightening, not tracking hours to keep publisher numbers up; sure you're growing! 🙄
"YES, THEY REALLY BELIEVE ALL OF THIS!"
😢 😭

Modern Judaism doesn't count blood transfusions as eating blood. -

That's an interesting edit of a (presumably legitimate) WT cover. The WT always had weird ways of celebrating their faithful ones. Showing off the faithful ones who are dying off is one example. Another was the cover boasting of the kids who died refusing blood transfusions. I always wonder how the parents felt about that cover when it came out. How do they feel now (those who are still alive)? Of course, there's no guarantee that the kids would have lived, had they had the transfusions; they were very ill. It's just bizarre the ghoulish way the WT showcases people being faithful unto the death, in the case of the above picture of the generation that did pass away, and the kids who refused blood.

TonusOH: people determined to confirm their biases will find that confirmation.
IWant2Know: He pops in from time to time. The avatar issue has been on the backburner for some time. This is just a hobby for him. That it works so well as such should be congratulated.

"But JWs aren't the only ones who interpret Michael to be Jesus."
There's a small amount of truth in that. I believe I heard (this was decades ago, so my memory may be faulty) a Christadelphian say that Jesus was Michael in some prophetic sense. But they wouldn't have had the same belief as JWs, even though Russell probably got his non-Trinitarian views from the Christadelphians. The Christadelphians don't believe in any pre-existance of Jesus before his conception, while Michael was around before that.
The blood doctrine is totally unique to JWs, probably a hobby horse of Franz. You'll note that it wasn't implemented until after Rutherford's death. He was in ill health; perhaps he needed transfusions.
144000 Israelite male virgins referring to Christians of both genders and not being necessarily celibate is unique. The nature of those people is apparently "symbolic", but their number (12×12×1000, extremely symbolic biblical numbers) is apparently absolute.
