  Actually, perhaps it's Cousin Oliver Syndrome. A TV show is usually dying when they introduce a new kid to try and inject some interest back in the show. WT jumped the shark when they introduced Sophia and Caleb.

  They probably jumped the shark 🦈 when the GB started making televangelist 🧑‍🏫 style videos 🎥📼🎞️🎬. They wanted to show that they were down with the kids 🕺 and as cool as The Fonz, but proved the opposite. 🙄

  my understanding* is that the un is supposed to be the wild beast of revelation.

  the un only came into being after wwii, so what was the beast before the new light came about?

  i can't see a speculative organisation like the wt not having an interpretation of the beast before the un came into being.

  I was after the tl:dr version, I seriously don't want to read that idiot's rantings. Is he saying the beast is the RC church and the Anglican church or the reformation churches or some sort of ecumenical council? Wouldn't that be the false prophet, the second beast?

  Russell died in 1916, so he wouldn't have had the then non-existent League of Nations in mind. Who or what did he think was the beast? I've been googling it, but most of the answers are about JWs, not bible students before Rutherford.

  hell no!.

  this argument presupposes that jehovah’s witnesses are ethically neutral–that if the core doctrine (the truth) is not true, its untruth is harmless, but if (by wild coincidence) the governing body of this organization happen to aim a wayward arrow at some real-world issue that needs addressing, the watchtower is a net positive because it directed, at least, some energy toward addressing essential issues of life.

  I think it is the apostates that are really scaring them. By conspiracy theorists, do they mean those who accuse them of colluding with world governments on the vaccine? Or those who are speculating about AM3's removal?

  This sort of thing must be starting to bite, because otherwise, why point it out? Are they running scared? What is threatening them and putting the fear of "Jehovah" into them?

  I don't understand why the R&F even bother. According to the WT, the bible wasn't written for them, only for the 144000. So any attempts by the organisation at admonishing them biblically should fall on deaf ears. "Not my dog; not my fight" should be the R&F's mantra.

  the following article appeared on baptist standard's online edition in january 18, 2024. other christian denominations are starting to pay attention to the legal cases against the watchtower and write about it.

  like the watchtower did in yester years with catholic csa cases.. oslo district court in norway is home to an ongoing trial after norway deregistered the jehovah’s witnesses last year.

  Not a lot of detail about what the SBC is being accused of. The Independent Fundamentalist Baptist movement can be a breeding ground for CSA and other types of abuse. The pastor's word is law, and he can impose his will on anyone and suppress any attempts at getting justice through the legal system (sound familiar?)

  The case of Jack Hyles and his successor Jack Schaap is a great example. Jack Schaap recently got released from prison. It'll be interesting to see if anyone will be gullible enough to let him pastor another church.
