When did the parrot actually fall off its perch? 1975? 1995 "generation" change? The answer probably answers when the organisation jumped the shark, too. Like overlapping generations, the two questions overlap.

The Jehovah's Witness religion has ''Jumped the Shark''
by RULES & REGULATIONS inwhat does jump the shark mean?.
the phrase “jump the shark” is a term in pop culture that originated from the tv show “happy days” and is used to describe a decline in quality.
it refers to the moment when a tv show or other product has reached its peak and starts to decline in quality.

Will beards on JWs make them feel more approachable and trustworthy? 🤔
If even the politicians have their doubts...

The Next Big Thing In WT World
by NotFormer inthings got a bit lively after the agm leaks in october.
there was a lot of discussion going on on this board for a few months.
now that all the leaks have been more or less confirmed as policy, and we've had lively discussions at length concerning the changes, things seem to have slowed down here.. a few suggestions have been raised as to what might be the next changes, such as women being allowed to wear slacks (in the usa, anyway), decoupling from 1914 as an anchoring date and others.. so, what changes do you think will be announced this year?.

And the real question, what announcements need to be made?

Debuted 1969. I always thought Fleegle was spelled with an "a", him being a dog and all. But apparently he spelled his name the same way as Gage Fleegle. Why on earth wouldn't you change your name by deed poll? 🙄

When The 'Tower Is Mentioned In A Will
by NotFormer ini assume someone from wt attends the reading of the will.
an elder, a co, some especially selected person from the branch under whose purview this sort of thing is maintained?.
what is the procedure?.

I suppose the main reason is my propensity towards silly humour. I was wondering if anyone ever had a WT representative turn up to a will reading, only for the will to say, in no uncertain terms, "Piss off!" to the WBTS?
There's at least one petty revenge story on YouTube about people doing something similar to churches who showed them no concern while sick, but wanted a cut of the estate.

The New Busy Work
by NotFormer infor a hundred years the slaves were kept from having the time and energy to question anything and associate anywhere where they might be exposed to alternative views by having to keep up the busy work of going door to door.
that avenue is drying up.
and policy is changing.. the wt needs new busy work to keep the sheep engaged without thinking.. the wt fancies itself as an up and coming movie studio.

Blondie, just as Sauron would rather have Hobbits as miserable slaves than happy and free, wouldn't the GB rather have JW time taken up by working "for the kingdom" than spent lying on the beach?

Is The GB Paranoid? And Should They Be?
by NotFormer inthe gb seems to have a bunker mentality, that they are special, and that the world is out to get them, so they tend to keep within their tightly controlled, protective environment.
bottlegate proved that there is some danger outside of the rarified atmosphere of their echo chamber; you never know when a camera might be trained on you, or that someone might recognise you as being something more than plain old "joe citizen".
further, tm3's new address was quickly found and distributed, and (as i understand it) someone drove to his gated community to tell the security guard that tm3's "ass is grass".

Blondie, I'm not sure that verse applies to people who are being persecuted for covering up CSA cases...

Yes, the secret password is a very PIMO thing to ask...
Randall Watters sounds like Drooper?? That makes me respect him even more: Drooper was my favourite character!

Blondie, one of those incidents where, rather than letting a doctrine simply fade away, they officially put it to rest.
I wonder if it was actually causing trouble behind the scenes?
