should women be given authority in god's congregation?yorww congregation manuscript #1009in the beginning, god created man and woman, created both them in his "image," and according to his likeness.
this means, of course, jehovah god originally endowed both man and woman with the same capabilities and qualities of his own likeness.
thus, man and woman have the same god-given abilities, gifts and attributes so as to reflect all the "fruits of the spirit" and godly qualities in their lives, if they so desire.

Burney's group/religion is reportedly mainly a handful of women surrounding him, their Messiah. Basically, if women can't serve, he has no servants.
Some* have speculated that a man shortage will inevitably lead to the WT allowing women to fill some positions within the organisation. That has been YORWW's reality since its foundation, hence the necessity for them to get that particular brand of "new light" early on.
* Channeling the WT's "Brother Some" here. ๐
Rutherford died in 1942, did he not?
Renaissance Catholic Jesus replaced by 1930s colporteur Jesus. ๐
on february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.
You mean weโre not?
You have a trustworthy face!
in 2009, a new company, traded on the new york stock exchange was initiated.. watchtower inc. wtwr.
corporate headquarters.

An interesting tidbit, but probably not a smoking gun. Watchtower as a term, word or reference is not exclusive to the crooks (formerly) of Crooklyn* Heights (any Hendrix fans out there?).
Corporate name searches turn up all sorts of things. Aussie JWs and exes might find it interesting to do a business/company name search on the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) website. Searching for the words "Watchtower" and "Jehovah" does actually yield some WT related entities. And a name change of one such entity.
I imagine if you did similar searches in the databases of the various US state Secretary of State departments, you'd find plenty of WT related entities. But simply having a word like "Watchtower" or "Jehovah"** in a name proves nothing.
*Damned tablet tried to autocorrect me!
** There are 63 entries for this name in the ASIC database. Rutherford and his cronies, contrary to their insistence, were hardly the first or only people to use that name.
there was on older white-haired circuit overseer in houston around 1989 or 1990. last name started with a w i think.... not sure though.
even the most brain-dead robotic elders told me he was offensive.

Yes, the nickname "Cyclone" suggests that he might have been a bit of a character! ๐ณ

Thanks for the answers about DOs. Without the DOs to keep the COs in check, who keeps them in their place now?
i open a new topic, to find out how it's going in your area.
from what i see as a southern european in my constituency the situation is patchy.. the congregation where i am now has 30% old people on zoom but also young couples with almost all their cameras off.
no increase but a slight decrease in the total number of publishers.. circuit assemblies: before covid you couldn't find a free seat if you arrived 10 minutes before the start.
It's hard to judge numbers. Anecdotal evidence swings both ways. Many people here believe that the WT is fudging the numbers. Do JWs fill out their census forms, or is that too political? What does the census data say?
my brother ( an elder ) calls me every time he's assigned a public talk.
he believes listening to zoom meetings is a great start, to eventually attending in-person meetings.
the talk is titled : '' reject worldly fantasies, pursue kingdom realities.
"Millions Now Living Will Never Die" - a small book published in 1920.
Whose 'fantasy' was that?
I doubt anyone old enough to read that little literary gem would still be living today. Their shamelessness knows no bounds.

When they existed, did district overseers visit congregations occasionally? If so, was it a bigger deal than a CO visit?
(I never had the "privilege" of seeing any of these luminaries in person. ๐)
