in your own opinion, what makes someone smart?
is it the decisions one makes?
iq?
I've been told I am smartMy husband is brilliant.
See? I didn't stand a chance. I'm 1/2 brilliant and 1/2 smart.

They demand evidence for believing in something, whatever it might be.
Dammit Doc, if you turn this into another aspartame thread, I'm outta here.
BTW Doodle, if everyone were as smart as I am, I'd never have to reply to these threads.
bacon, egg, sausage, fried bread and toast.
would you like beans or tomatoes with that?.
i was curious that visiting americans find it strange that we should eat baked beans with our breakfast over here.. when else would a person eat beans?.

bacon AND sausage? fried bread AND toast? and then you add beans to that? I'm going to stick with my original thought.
Nope mom, don't remember that.
Country Girl, Steve has only good things to say about your dad's diner.
"Ma'am, we DISPENSE cholesterol."
Damn, that's funny.

I had never heard of such a thing until FMZ made himself a Brit breakfast in Dallas.
Still can't imagine actually eating beans for breakfast.
On toast with cheese? I'd have to be starving...I mean literally starving.
so, who else here reads diana gabaldon's books?
i read each one when they were first published, and loved them.
i've just recently started, out of nostalgia, to read them a second time.
Thanks for the Lord John Grey info, I found it at a library locally and will pick it up today!
I have all of Gabaldon's Outlander books. A few years ago I came across an author who views Gabaldon as a mentor of sorts. Anyway, I bought the book "Lake in the Clouds" by Sara Donati and really liked it. She continued the series with "Into the Wilderness" and "Dawn on a Distant Shore" and I just found she has written a fourth "Fire Along the Sky". I have it reserved but am #44 on the list. I'll probably just go buy it. Diana Gabaldon wrote a nice review on the cover of the first, that's why I picked it up. I think it was in the second book that the characters run into a well respected white witch and her Scottish red-headed husband. Definitely worth reading. Really good stories.

thanks much for the fish and the pictures.
just awesome.
and as you said it was plenty ripe when it finally got here, so maybe we can try again?
HEY!!!!! How come Valis is getting stuff and I'm not?????
Because you aren't very patient. You have to wait for Christmas. BTW, don't tell her but I did get something for Bubbles that I'll be sending out mid-November. If you are VERY good, I might stick something in the package for you too.

But of course mom. In due time, when Steve gets home.
PS...curiosity killed the cat
Rachel
my cat kato... is part siamese.
he is usually a clown... and attacks me in the morning as i walk down the hall to the shower.
silly cat.. well... some weekends, i leave him at home alone - while i go visit my aunt for a day and a half.
Glad your cat is OK Jim. You could attach a note to his collar that reads:
this is a special collar that has an elastic doo-dah - that will stretch apart (and possibly break) - IF - he ever gets it caught on anything.
LOL...might work

Hey V! Glad they finally arrived...
Steve has another batch of three good sized dollys all smoked and ready at the smokehouse. He will arrange for some to be shipped to you sometime this week. We'll make sure they write the address down correctly this time. What day is good for you?
He went out fishing with his uncle yesterday and has quite a story to tell. I'll let him tell it when he gets home this evening...complete with pictures.
