Anyone watching Survivor this time?

the finale is this coming sunday, already.

i am pretty surprised how fast it seems to have gone this time.. anyone have a guess as to who will win?.

i think twyla.............but last week i thought ami had it all wrapped up and she got voted off.

I agree Shamus. I've been eagerly anticipating Survivor Siberia. Let's see some freezing starving people out there, and make them work their asses off. Truly miserable.

The best was Australia when they were totally starving. This season is about the worst. All stars sucked pretty bad too. The only good thing was that Rupert won a $million too.

I'll be sad to see it go but surprised if they let go that easily. No more of this tropical island BS. FREEZE THOSE BASTARDS and make them work for their $million.

I've heard that this is the last season for Survivor. It's been done to death... they can't do anything else with it. That was from the executive producer, too.

You scared me there so I did a little research. WRONG! They are currently filming Survivor 10 in Palau in the South Pacific. Right now...bickering and fighting and alliances being made and broken.

I hope they are hungry this time. I like it when they're starvin'. Makes them meaner.

its funny that when i imagine what other posters look like - i alway imagine them as attractive, fit, well groomed, with bright, shiny happy faces.

i never see them as obese, nerdy, or with greasy hair and warts and pimples.

their noses are never too big - no body has a "comb-over.

I'm watching it...but you knew that already.

I think this nasty little group will have to really fight for it. It's all going to depend on who wins immunity.

My vote is for Chris but it looks like the ladies might dump him Thursday. I think it would be great if Eliza won, her head has been on the chopping block since the beginning.

Should I teach my kids about Santa Claus? (Lie vs. Harmless Fantasy)

my wife and i got on a discussion about something i never would've guessed we'd need to.

she wants to teach our new baby about santa claus, easter bunny, & tooth fairy, but i don't.

of course, as witnesses we never would have taught that, and i have to acknowledge that i may only be reasoning using that old set of values.. i don't want to look into my kid's eyes and tell her something that i know for a fact isn't true.

My 8 year old son's teacher totally screwed us over yesterday by telling the class all about the wonderful celebration of St Nick day on December 6. I think Country Woman posted about it as Sinter Klass or something like that. Anyway, she has always celebrated St Nick day and told them all about leaving your shoes out that night for St Nick to come and leave gift in them.

So, Rhys comes home telling us all about it. Explains the whole story to his six year old sister and they go to bed leaving their shoes outside their door. They asked if we thought he'd come. I didn't know what to say! I sure as hell didn't want to start another tradition that involved me spending even more money.

Those two sets of shoes were so damn cute in their doorways though. Unfortunately I had very little cash and no small toys and not much candy laying around yesterday. If I'd known about it I would have bought something small and appropriate but I was caught off guard at 4:30 when Rhys came home from school.

I had a couple dollars in my wallet and found a two packs of M&Ms in Rhys' halloween candy bag. They each got a dollar and a pack of M&Ms. Pretty pathetic but we'll see what they do. The kids won't be up for another 30 minutes.

now that i have your attention..... as you buy xmas gifts, you'll undoubtedly be asked by some retailers for your phone number and address.. if you're not having the item delivered, you don't have to give your personal info in order to make the purchase..

period!!!.

Different stores ask for different reasons. Linens and Things sends coupons if you give them your number, the more you shop, the more you get. Toys R Us just bombards you with ads so I won't give them any info. Bath and Body Works sends me coupons and cards for free stuff.

Grocery stores don't get any info out of me, and I'm sick of the pile of coupons/crap receipts they give me with my regular receipt. Irritating.

i love to get into the whole christmas spirit thing, but i never take it to the point of lying to or deceiving children about it.

i try to teach kids that it is the spirit of christmas that matters... then i saw this thing.

parents are actively trying to deceive their kids by offering them "proof" that santa is real.

Well, that's a sad story. I'm sorry that was such a disappointing thing for you but I think you really are a minority on this one. You are the only person I have ever heard say that the Santa fantasy affected you negatively.

I found a letter on the hearth this morning. It's to Santa from Rhys. He asked Santa to write on the back of his letter which one of our ornaments he thinks is coolest. Rhys thinks the Star Wars Clone fighting guys (can't remember what they are really called) are the coolest then he signed it...your #1 fan Rhys. It's absolutely precious and I'm going to copy it before Santa can write the reply. It did take me off guard though because I really didn't think Rhys actually believed in Santa. I thought he was just playing along.

BTW, is it OK to have Star Wars fighting dudes on the tree? They have guns and everything, really quite cool actually. Steve and I were looking at them the other night and pondering whether or not a violent ornament is appropriate. Hell, they are from Hallmark and Grandma Mulan bought them so they must be OK, right?
