Hi Ozzie,
Thanks for your response, glad to be of assistance. I really hadn't thought of it being a way to cope with the present situation. Made me stop and think about it awhile after I read your post.
I have wondered how they are dealing with Sharon's death and more importantly what they will teach their children about it. Sharon is disfellowshipped. Will the children learn their grandma will not be resurrected? According to the drivel, she is not worthy because the elders made a decision without ever meeting with Sharon. It makes me sad to think about it. Sharon is such a lovely person and hopefully her grandchildren will know that someday and it won't be clouded over by the fact that she was disfellowshipped when she died.

Mulan and I thought it would be nice to get the three kids out of the house for the day. It was. Anyway, she is still a loyal dub probably very torn with all the compromises they have made in associating with all us apostates. We were watching a beautiful cougar stretching and rolling around scratching his back when she said (drumroll please) "I can't wait to pet one". It was really hard not to laugh. She was obviously referring to the time when after God kills millions of innocent people, he allows the dubs to pet the cougars.

I read an article about her in USA Today yesterday. She is one screwed up wacko. I don't believe she was ever married to Steve Martin though. She claims she was insane during her three year relationship with Ellen Degeneres and came back to her senses after it was over. How convenient.

A Question. Your Help Requested!
by Englishman inthere is something that i am not clear about in my mind, so i would much appreciate some input on this 2 part question.. i keep reading posts from persons who are desperate to leave the jw's.
however, almost without exception, these persons state that they will be shunned by their families and friends.
so, my first quesion is: do you mean that you will be officially disfellowshipped by the elders of your congregation if you simply opt to leave?.

My husband and I just left, faded away. It has been almost five years now and no phone calls. We are regularly shunned. Last week I was visiting my grandma the day after my grandpa died and two witnesses shunned me in my grandma's kitchen. This Saturday is the memorial service. My mom (Mulan) has already stated she isn't going to attend. My husband and I will. My back has been killing me over the stress of going back into a KH. I will let you know what happens. I'm fairly certain we will be invisible.

I spoke to Mulan this morning. Sharon was awake during the night and was able to hold her grandson and talk to her boys for a few minutes. Today she is not conscious and has a high fever. The nurse does not expect her to hang on much longer.
Please check out Sharon's story at the link Mulan provided. It will give you a good idea of the kind of relationship Sharon and my mom share. The story ends with the diagnosis of breast cancer. Mulan was with her every step of the way, every doctor appt and chemo treatment.
My son is sad because he said one of his grandmas is going to die. Sharon smiled when she heard mom telling that she was a grandma to my kids.

I didn't know Khalua and 1/2 & 1/2 had a name. It's really good in the winter if you heat the 1/2 & 1/2 (or whole milk) real hot and then add the Khalua. Mmmmmmm lovely fumes.
