I gave up love in order to leave the organisation, but I think that's a topic for another thread.

Back in the meat raffle of life!
by joannadandy inof late i have been rattling on about my new boy toy- .
it was a wonderful summer romance that began with the kick off of memorial day fireworks, peaked on the fourth of july--and fizzled out before labor day.

Sending my condolences. I've been in the same situation too.
It sucks, and feel free to eat as much chocolate and ice-cream as you want for a week, then forget the jerk and move on. You'll find someone who will make you forget all about your cheating ex, and make you glad you kept those matching bra & panties sets

I'm not into these games, so I knew nothing about SSX3 or even that it was coming out.
I felt sorry for you that no one had posted to your thread, so I thought I would, even if it's just to say hi.
Have a nice day.

I lost a "heritage" due to my being a 3rd generation JW. I no longer see people that knew me as a baby, that knew my Mum when she was alive, or that have been friends with my family since the 50s.
It's damaged my relationship with my sister and several cousins. My sister still talks to me, but I'm looked upon as being worldly and not someone for my niece to look up to.
I've lost "friends" but looking back, most of them were never friends in the truest sense.
I've lost an entire social base. As a good JW, I never made friends with "worldly" people, so since I left, I have had to start making friends from scratch.

Phone Calll From My Brother -- He's Reinstated!
by Bendrr ini got a phone call a couple of nights ago from my younger brother.
actually a message on my voice mail.
he called to let me know that last night he and his band would be practicing at his apartment and wanted me to come over because "we haven't hung out together in a long time" his own words to his disfellowshipped brother!

Cool relationship you have there with your bro. Sounds like how brothers (and sisters) should be.
You know, before I even looked at this board this morning, I was thinking how Witness kids seem to be different from our generation. Back then, you were either in or out - you couldn't live half your life as a Witness and also do "worldly" things like go to bars, listen to live bands or date without being chaperoned. If you did, it was a definite double life that you hoped no one would find out about.
Kids I know are now doing these things, and more, all whilst remaining Dubs in good standing (more or less). They're not breaking any of the definite rules, just doing things that were looked down upon a decade or more ago.
If kids like Matt want to live their lives that way, then good luck to them. They are living with themselves in mind first, and the Society is now a definite second. A new breed of JWs seems to be emerging.

Gettin' Personal here.......
by Frannie Banannie inthanks to little toe's piquing my interest on this subject, i hafta ask it...... .
has anyone here had any personal spiritual experiences and is anyone here brave enough to describe/relate any personal spiritual experiences they've had, whether pre-borg, during being borganized or post-borg?
to be more specific, have you ever seen any angels or spirit creatures, been made aware of their presence in any way, interacted with or communicated with them, or had dream/visions...etc?

Awww (((((Gumby)))))) don't feel bad. I would probably be sceptical too if I hadn't had the experiences I had. As I said before, I don't believe it is a message from God or anything, I think that there is so much out there in other dimensions that we're not fully aware of. I'm pretty open minded so I don't care if others don't believe me, and I'm happy for others to be skeptical. Each to their own. We'll all find out in the end, won't we?

by ScoobySnax inok so i booked my holiday up today over the internet, going next monday week 1st september to corfu in greece, anyone been there>?.

-
Prisca
If you don't want to fly, then I'll have your ticket.
I love Greece
Also, if you find a nice stewardess, let her know that you're scared of flying and she might take extra care of you (in the nicest possible way, not being rude or anything)

Are you a self reliant person?
by William Penwell innow here is where i stick my foot in my mouth, although i have done that enough in my life.
i would like to think of myself as a free thinker and look at everything objectively.
the point i would like to bring up here and discuss with others is, even though we claim or most of us claim to be ex jdubs, we still have not gotten away from the codependent mind of a dub.

I've always been an emotionally and spiritually self-reliant person, even as a child, so I think I had it easier leaving the Borg because I didn't need others' approval to know that what I was doing was the right thing.
There is a danger when some JWs leave the Borg that they will get sucked into another cult or some sort of scheme due to their need for belonging to a group for affirmation. They have needs that can be easily exploited.
With me, I have no desire to join an organised anything, and I am pretty self-reliant in everything so perhaps I'm better off than others in that sense?

When I was a JW I was afraid of talking about such things lest I be labelled demonised or whatever. I told the guy's about the dream I had a week after but it was dismissed as a coincidence, although I felt it was something more.
Since I left the Borg, I haven't had any more strong premonitions although I have had an experince sensing a "presence" but I don't wish to go into that just now.
