Did Dr Kellogg ever say anything about it making you blind?

Hi Emyrose,
Sorry to hear about the problems you are having. I'm no doctor, but I have gone through different stages of depression over the years. I am wondering if you have Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. It happens when something traumatic happens to you, but you haven't yet fully dealt with the resulting emotions/issues. I don't know your story, but we have all left the Society, and the leaving process can scar us in one way or another.
Please speak to a professional, even just your local G.P. He/she may proscribe some anti-depressants, or at least help you to discuss what is making you feel the way you do.
Please take good care of yourself. Make sure you get some rest and eat fresh foods. You are fortunate to have a caring boyfriend. He may not understand exactly what you are going thru, but it is nice to have someone's shoulder to lean upon.
And stick around! Post any concerns you have. There are plenty of caring people here who are willing to assist you.
told by the elders yesterday that since i'm a official at a sports match on saturdays and i won't quit doing it (they mention it occasionally to me at meetings), that they won't be allowing me to get baptised the next assembly coming up.
it might matter if i was working 5 days a week but at the moment i'm only working 2 days......(i've already racked up 50 hours this month).
i remember a talk a while back with the theme "what prevents you from getting baptised?
I agree with LovesDubs.
AK - a few weeks ago you posted a thread stating that you were considering leaving the org with a bang - either by sleeping with an elder's daughter, partaking at the Memorial, smoking during a meeting etc.
Now you are saying you're disappointed because the elders knocked you back from getting baptised.
HELLO??? does any one see double standards here? Maybe the elders can sniff something too, AK.
I'm not saying this to be nasty, but as a friend I'm asking you to consider what you really want. Once you're baptised, that's it. You have to live by their guidelines. At the moment you are literally a free man. Please consider this, and make your own decision, as you will have to live with it for the rest of your life.
i've gotten the impression that gambling is not looked upon kindly by the 'tower.
is it officially condemned, i.e.
is it a disfellowshippable offence?.
Vegas, anyone?
Count me in - I love Las Vegas
was it ezicle who said the eventuality of man is the same as for the animal, as one dies so does the other.
or something like that.. man has to die because he sinned, that's the price one has to pay.
what sins have animals committed?
Hey OT,
Did you give any thought to the fact that Gopher might be offering his own opinion??? Just because you don't agree with it doesn't make it wrong. He was just offering his opinions, just as you gave yours. Neither is right nor wrong. It's all about interpretation.
As for the final eventuality of man - we'll find out eventually, one way or another!
hullo everybody i'm new here, even though i've been lurking now for several months.. i have to say how afraid i am to post, afraid and ashamed but i feel if i dont tell my story, i honestly dont know what may happen to me or my children if they lose me, right now i feel like i've got nowhere left to turn and have my doubts about this place as well.. i know my story will shock you but i cant keep it in any longer.
i am recently disfellowshipped for immorality, the subject of a kingdom hall witch -hunt and subsequent congregational humiliation, .
during the process of the judicial committee meetings and proceedings no consideration was given to my real human circumstances nor to the spirit of survival nor human nature nor that of a mother seeking to protect her children from lack of basic fundamentals such as food, shelter and clothing.
HEY - don't knock Enid Blyton! I grew up with her stories and it didn't affect me!
P.S. But I find it hard to believe Azzazel's story. Go beyond the sob story and you will see a troll trying to pull certain strings. It's happened before, and I'm afraid it'll happen again.
a few funnies..... .
** it is well documented that for every mile that you jog, you add one minute to your life.
this enables you, at age 85, to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing home at 400. haven't lost a pound.

** I have to exercise early in the morning before my brain figures out what I am doing.
** I don't exercise at all. If God meant us to touch our toes, he would have put them further up our body.
** I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.
** I have flabby thighs, but fortunately my stomach covers them.
** The advantage of exercising every day is that you die healthier.
** If you are going to try cross country skiing, start with a small country.
** And last, but not least, I don't jog - it makes the ice jump right out of my glass.

i'm also a newbie & was wondering if any brother or sister had gone thru this same experience?
any advice is welcome.
one knows 1 co 7:39 quite well among the witnesses.
Dear Chris,
Just want you to know you're not the only one this has happened to. It's happened to friends of mine too. As you say, it's easy to see why some would prefer ones outside the organisation to these "brothers".
Try not to take it too personally. These guys KNOW they are in a gold mine of fresh young sisters eager to get marry. Sometimes it goes to their head and they think they can do anything they please, picking and choosing like little boys in a sweet shop.
If these guys are so fickle, just be glad you're not stuck in marriage to them. Enjoy your freedom, and widen out in your association of the opposite sex. Don't limit yourself to just the guys in your cong, get out and get to know guys more worth your while!
