Many ancient gods live in heaven and since mountains are the highest ground and closest to the sky that matches. Note the Egyptians built pyramids which literally means fire mountain (pyr=pyro as in pyromanic) i think. Also note zeus and the greek gods lived on mt olympus. In the Bible lots of holty places are on moutnains. You have already mentioned Moses, but lets not forget Mt Zion and Jerusalem. We also have the other holy mountains like Horeb, Mt Carmel etc.

moreover, the nature of the sin may reflect greatly on his qualifications to serve.

After 2000 years since JC was executed ,why have we heard not a whisper from GOD ALMIGHTY ?
by smiddy inhe/she had no problem talking to adam and eve ,though they were sinners in his/her sight .throughout the hebrew sriptures, ot, he /she had no problem communicating with fallen man ,imperfect humans , to dictate his will to his subjects by means of prophets , male and female ,according to the bible , the old testament ,the hebrew scriptures , god communicated not once ,not twice ,not even thrice ,but dozens of times during the first 4000 years of human history according to the bible.. why has this god been so silent these past 2000 years ,when their have been atrocities above the scale of anything that has ever been seen these past 6000 years of human existence .. oh you may say that the atrocities were not committed by god they were committed by man.
fair enough .but god intervened in human affairs in such smaller infringements.
with prophets or so the bible says.. the so called apostacy after the last of the apostles , the influence of satan in the world ,( or was that after 1914 ,) and the 2000 year gap when christ was supposed to return ,never mind about all the crap that went before it .. the fact remains we have never heard from god ,any god, or even" a " god, with either his/her approval or disapproval of events good or bad these past 2000 years... smiddy.

Well, a couple of reasons. One being that religion IS a snare and a racket. Religion is of men, faith is of the Spirit. (not that someone in religion does not belong to Christ... He calls to His people to come out of her, so there are obviously some of His who are IN her)
But Christ did not come to establish a new religion.
And the last thing that this world needs is another religion. How many people have done that, started a new denomination, in christianity, itself? The focus eventually, no matter how good initial intentions, becomes about the religion, its doctrines, teachings, leaders, etc... rather than on Christ: the ONLY one we should be listening to, and the only image of God we are given to look AT. And HE has NEVER directed me to try and start my own religion. Just the opposite.
I do, however, share as I am given (or we would not be having this discussion)... and point to Christ as the one that a person should look to for truth. I am to witness to Him. To Christ as the Word, Truth, Image of God, and Christ as the Life. Not to start a religion. Nor could I do so (start a religion), and still be listening to my Lord, as He calls for His people to come OUT of her.
No one should follow me... but rather follow Him.

Call your knowledge what you wish. you can still share, you dont have to make an establishment like a formal church. What i meant by start your own religion was simply to share what you have. Im not suggesting you build cathedrals or basicallas. You should look up the meanings of those two words. Church also has an interesting etymology.

Given all the prophets in the OT also got many prophecies wrong ( davids kingdom will last forever etc, tyre will be destroyed forever) then yes they are in the same company.

Isnt that nice, a father sells his daugther to slavery, so she can be forced into marriage and raped.
When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment. (Exodus 21:7-11 NLT)
Rapist must buy the raped victim for 50 coins. Its obvious the motivation for this law is so the owner of the women gets compensation for a lost marriage dowry. At no stage does the victim get any protection or justice as we would expect. The poor girl must marry the rapist. No wonder muslsims today wont let their women walk down the street. With a system of law using ideas like this its a terrible place to live.
