God didnt write any of those laws. Priests and leaders wrote them for their own advantage. The laws of Moses are a fraud. There is no kindness, wisdom or anything useful in them. If you dont believe me would you want to live under them ? If so go live in IRan or Saudi Arabia, theres not much difference between Moses law and Sharia law.

After 2000 years since JC was executed ,why have we heard not a whisper from GOD ALMIGHTY ?

he/she had no problem talking to adam and eve ,though they were sinners in his/her sight .throughout the hebrew sriptures, ot, he /she had no problem communicating with fallen man ,imperfect humans , to dictate his will to his subjects by means of prophets , male and female ,according to the bible , the old testament ,the hebrew scriptures , god communicated not once ,not twice ,not even thrice ,but dozens of times during the first 4000 years of human history according to the bible.. why has this god been so silent these past 2000 years ,when their have been atrocities above the scale of anything that has ever been seen these past 6000 years of human existence .. oh you may say that the atrocities were not committed by god they were committed by man.

fair enough .but god intervened in human affairs in such smaller infringements.

with prophets or so the bible says.. the so called apostacy after the last of the apostles , the influence of satan in the world ,( or was that after 1914 ,) and the 2000 year gap when christ was supposed to return ,never mind about all the crap that went before it .. the fact remains we have never heard from god ,any god, or even" a " god, with either his/her approval or disapproval of events good or bad these past 2000 years... smiddy.

I dont want to sound nit picky but even though the workers in China or Vietnam and so on have it quite bad and i wouldnt want to be in their shoes, the ancient slaves had it much much worse. I just want to say that i am not trying to apologise the modern setup, but lets be fair and true to the meaning of the words. The poor workers in China have some very limited freedom. I m not going to claim its great or that they live well, but the anceint slaves had it much much worse. They were beaten, raped and killed on a scale that we cannot compare today.

Your second point about your job is completely unfair. You and me have it easy compared to the workers making the stuf fyou mention. We only work at most on average 1/3 a week. Thats 2/3 of a week of freedom or at the least peace. Im pretty sure you have never been beaten at your workplace. Start to compile the violence and so on, and you will see you are not a slave, not even close to one.

So some bosses are bullies, thats a big difference from a task master who actually beat you half too death. Im also pretty sure if you lost a job today you would have one soon enuff. Perhaps its not nice but its not a life and death matter. Slaves back then didnt have a chance.

Who is saying slavery is good? We're talking about faith... the meaning of faith... and Abraham was commended for his FAITH. He heard, and believed, and obeyed. Noah heard, and believed, and obeyed. Peter heard, (who Christ was), and believed, and followed.

So as long as you have faith you can be a terrible person. You can rape, enslave people, lie, beat and more, as long you have faith. Why couldnt you just admit that Abraham was an arsehole who lied that god spoke to him ? There ois no way a kind God would help or bless an evil criminal like Abraham. I supplied some scriptures showing that non jews got a much worse deal. Pretty strange for a god who loves everyone to be racist.

Thus, an Israelite father could not sell his daughter into slavery, but he could give them as wives. Nowhere is rape condoned in the scriptures you supplied.

Go back 2 posts, its the first line of the scripture, it clearly says sell shis daughter as a slave. If God meant give daughter as a wife then he should have said so. However the text continues to use slave in reference to the daugther on multiple accounts.

When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment. (Exodus 21:7-11 NLT)

Why do you lie, TEC, when you know very well thats the very point of the highlight given to use in the Bible story. they could have written that Abraham left her in a nice place with food and some money, but they instead tell us she was left in the desert with her kid. Its a story filled with racism, the point being her descendants are unworthy and deserve to die.

She was given to him as his wife. To have a family. You might think you can judge that sort of thing by todays standards, but it makes no sense to do so. That would have been an honor, elevating Hagar to a position of honor. She never ran away from Abraham.

Thats the whole point. It was not her choice. When its not her choice its rape. Tammy its amazing how instead of feeling pain for the woman you instead elevate the criminals in the story like Abraham. Abraham is just a rapist. she couldnt run away from abraham because in those days she cpuld have been killed just because Abraham wanted too, a bit like a chicken on a farm today.

if i lived in victoria, i just may, as an act of sheer bastardry, vote for julian assange (of wikileaks fame), but i don't live in vic, so i cant.. my objection to voting is that the political choice offers two self-perpetuating oligarchies (who are something like the governing body).

they make up a slate of candidates and election advertising consists of attempting to persuade swinging voters to vote for their slate of candidates.. anyway, i noted that k.rudd has made a video in chinese, aimed apparently at mainland china.
