are the jws the only religion that show their corporate side to the public? im sure all other churches have companies that do all the boring business stuff, but compared to the public image and buiness of the wts they are never seen. perhaps the only exception is svientolohy but everone knows they are a scam monry business nyway.

hwre im going to'predict and say that the wts will say 2014 is a big event. the best way to'divert attention and alsomcause alarm to gain new followers is another stunt. by sayingnsomething somrediculous that no jw will question it. hitler himself said the more rediculous the lie the less people will question, after all nobody would be that stupid unless it were true.

by Chariklo inas i turn things over in my mind, one jw lie stands out.. that god doesn't listen to all prayers.
unless i have it wrong, and i don't think i do, jw's believe, and have been endlessly, ruthlessly taught, that only those living by "jehovah's righteous standards"...that awful glib phrase again...will get their prayers listened to.
in other words, god looks at the number the person is calling from, so to speak, checks who it is, looks him up in his book of misdeeds, and angrily slams the phone down.. the jehovah god of the wt is petty and mean-minded.

i wpuld have to say that the bible is NOT gods word. no other book has so many different religions, cults etc all claiming to be based on exactly what it says. there has to be something reallynwrong with the writing style ormcontents if it can be so easily twisted ornused to crste such utter nonsense prophecies. personally if i god wanted tomtell us about something like armageddon, instead of the riddles and complicated selextive math he should just say itnplain and simple in one place. something like the ten commandments where anyone can read them and understand without being a wizard. tye fact this is notbtur obviously has mesnt opportunists everywhere love to use the bible to pick certain scriptures and then tell usnwhat or who its talking about or when and so on.
i just love micah 5:3 which is supposed to prove jesus will be born in bethlehem, but if you read 5:7 it says --he- will defeat the asyrians. the whole chapter never really identifies whomits talkimg aboutnand certainly never says messiah. one would thimk if god wanted tomtell us about hismson being born in bethlehe,m he would justnsay so. probably the most tricky or dishonest part of the scam, is the text doesnt even mention bethlehem the town but the tribe of ephraim.

firstly its important to realise satan appears very rarely in the ot. eve the tree and eatting the apple, was all started because of a talking snake, at no time is satan mentioned here. the only real time he appears is during the story of job.
another so called appearance is the reference to lucifer. the nt scripture is actually talking about venus the morning star. the nt is full of symbolism involving the sun and the planets. if we read the heavenly lord texts and think SUN we can see the text is just celebrating the sun up in heaven, in the clouds, the light of the world, who is preceeded by lucifer aka venus and so on.do a search for --bible astrotheologoy-- or --jesus sun-- theres a lot in the bible that is nothing more than some ancient men admiring the sun.
if one searches other pagan sun gods we can find many other similarities with the memorial. all these sun gods all had big celebrations on easter the spring solstice and xmas the winter solstice.

As an ex near witness I have a voracious capacity for reading
by Star tiger insince nearly being consumed by witness mentality as an almost baptised member but thankfully due to my fantastic wifes scepticism toward it, i have now embarked on a voracious capacity for reading all the books that were once excluded from my list to get a total rounded out experience of life from the communist manifesto to atlas shrugged, wealth of nations, the age of reason, robert anton wilson, the koran and dare i say it mein kamf, the vedas, but i am still a bit frightened of the golden bough due to the residue of the jw's.
all knowledge must be good, i've read the bible and but it seem a bit meh!, all books have some interesting points, except the nazi one but it's good to read anything you can!.

ive found a lot of interesting mythology books by reading a few books.'as always wiki is always a good start to gtrab a few histocial background. the more i look, the more'i learn of the con that'is the bible and jesus.
most of the gospel facts are from what i learnt by reading 'caesars messiah' an interesting book. its not hard us to do an elementary comparison of titus and jesus and notice the srtriking parallels, visits to the same towns in the same order. ive of course given a very short summary, the book shows how each and ever detail in the gospel is matched by titus. another interestingnconjexture is that josephus was the author of the original gospel, which is why i mentioned the joseph of arimathea pun. another point of note is that judas iscariot probably means judas the sicarii - check wiki. there is no place called iscariot. thats right the sicarii were another mob of rebels, just like zealots and peaceful peter who carries a sword, dagger or sicar. if your interested search youtube or buy the book. probably the most imoortant point, is at the time there were many messiahs all who were causing a lot of trouble and war. its bexause of this caesar sent vespasian and titus to cure judea of these daemons.you can also verify for yourself that joaephus himaelf wrote that he believed titus to be the promiaed messiah. the point of tyhe gospels is to replace the jewish wish for a liberating messiah with a peaxeful'one who obeys rome and pays taxes. no roman is ever cruel, wrong, dishonourable in the gospels. in fact we are left with the odd outcome that eceryone blames the jews for jesus seath when he was executed by romans.
a last note the passover / last supper is axtually a joke on the battle for jerusalem. durimg the battle many jews became cannabels, eattimgnthe flesh and blood. the gospel'attempts to paint jews as evil,'stupid and vile.

does anyone think just before the old guard died, thye had many spill the beans sessions. sessions where they told the young ones, their mistakes and how they lied or work around solving the inconvient truth of the past? or will the young ones need to learn on the job? the hard thing of course is today, communication has improved soo much, its hard to hide old facts or historical'lies etc.

how do jws explain other non ot jewish beliefs like kaballah, talmud?
by mP inwhy is it jws believe the old testament and yet ignore the other religious commentary and sprititual aspects available from the jewish culture.
take jesus for example, no where is he mentioned by name in the ot or in the writings of jews who lived in the first century, and still believe.. kaballah is another weird, astrotheological part of jewsish religion, magic numbers, inner soul, magic powers, astrology and so on.
how do they explain the same jewish leaders who run the jrwish religion also came up with this stuff ?.

yes your point about dancing in trances is well taken, ancient religions love taking drugs or getting drunk and then becoming spiritual. we have the account of king david himself dancing like a fool almost or compeletely naked in front of his court while praising jehovah. there is a chapter a bit earlier where saul and samuel the prophet are naked all night.
im suprised how few'of these weird things jws know about or understand. if they knew all of what was to be jewish, back then they would be shocked. the jews lived nothing like your typical'congregation of today.
with all this'in mind and more, why is it the wts'avoids'highlighting this stuff? i know they cherry pick scriptures that are rosy and nice, but still dont people realise the grotesque cruelty present not only in the actions but the laws of moses?
why doesnt the talmud ever get a mention ? surely people know about it, it could be argued it was compiled in a manner that is not that different from ot books. there is no license or qualification, nor isthere a way ofdetermining which books are geniune. one merely trusts or accepts, the work and thats it.
another study that i know ambit about is gemantria, the atudy of numbers or numerology. the bible loves'numvers. there are'magic numbers everywhere. its always twelve tribes, apsotles,'stones. iam also amazed how many times forty appears, david ruled for forty years,'they wondered forty years, jesus was in the desert foety days. how csn people not see this is numerology, which is banned by moses ?

Theists, why does God allow suffering..

you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.
i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.
