  Myth 2: Dionysus turned water into wine

  MP:

  You fail to understand the thought process of the ancient. Anything they could not explain in some simple mechanical like form, they said was the work of a God. When we are talking about turning water into wine we are witnessing the handy work of Dionsys. While we might call the state the final step as permentation they had no knowledge of this. Im not talking about a particular story im talking about his role in nature as a God.

  The first part of the miracle is where the plants grow needing water and the sun. In the spring the grapes are picked and squeezed. The juice then miraculous transforms into wine. That is the miracle of Dionysus.

  Lions eating straw....is this possible?

  i recall a jw telling me that.... "they" meaning scientists, had done study's on lions in zoo's and discovered that if they gave lions straw and grass to eat that the lions became very passive and no longer showed predator behavior??

  now they never explained who "they" were, or were these "study's" had been done or why based on these study's lions are not now fed grass etc

  has anyone else heard this for real?

  herbavores have longer intestines than carnivores. im pretty sure ive also heard that herbivores sometimes have multiple stomaches unlike carnivores.

  jesus didnt say that mosaic laws were cruel or utter bullshit, he actually supported and respected them. my original post was sarcastic. if anything this shows that jesus was not a forward thinking moralist, but rather an invention.

  and i mean the whole bible, from start to finish.. first, the fear factor.

  many that are deeply into the bible are afraid that, if they quit or disagree with it, they are going to suffer forever (destruction or hell).

  they are also promised a major reward (life on earth forever, or heaven) if they obey.

  while you show revelation does say jesus, it doesnt mention his ministrybor life. if you read up about how copyists went about their work you will appreciate that they often tweeked texts. with that in mind its easy too see how a few lords got changed into jesus. we have the same tweaks today with the nwt changing lord bsck to jehovah in many places in the nt. anyway i just read the first half of rev 1 and honestly that sounds quite different from the jesus who came to earth. the death mentions dont sound at all like his crucifiction and strangely they never mention ressurection. can we honestly say this is the same jesus or are you accepting or rememberung what the jw told you. if john knew jesus why invent this new michael the archangel character, why not stick to just one name per person and avoid all this confusion?

  did the apostle paul really know jesus ?

  i made a statement to tec, that paul did not know jesus.

  in fact i challenge anyone to show from his writings, that he knew about the christ presented in the gospels.

  i believe it is fair to say the lord or christ of paul is only mentioned as a spirit being who was ressurrected for us.

  as always you give ebery possible benefit to accept the bible as truth, instead of being critical. like i said peter was almost never called cephas in the gospels or acts or even in the books he supposedly wrote. james was a very popular name back then. finding a grouip including john, cephas and james was not impossible. the jews appear to be very unoriginal and to have used a very narrow range of names. for example we several apostles with the same name, james and judas being the examples. with just three names we have no proof they are the three apostles, we also have the strange circumstance that the other apostles are ignored and not mentioned. was paul really talking to the same twelve apostles of jesus?
