Yes I didn't think it made any more sense than 1914, and certinally no less sense.
I thought he was sane because back in eary 2008 he convinced me to invest most of my retirement funds in Gold and Silver. That worked out quite well.
a non-jw friend (whom i thought was sane) sent me this video:.

To summarise. They (119 ministries) beleive:
1. They don't know everything, and are not inspired by God.
2. There will be literal fulfilment of scripture in moon, stars, 1260 days ... etc.
3. Their bible interpreted dates point to Christ's return will be in 2016.
By the way he also sent this video:
i'll never forget sitting at our district convention when a lovely pioneer family came on to tell us their experiences.
they father went on about how the struggled at times but "jehovah provided" like the time a fruit and veggies truck must have lost some of it's load and they filled there bags?????
not very encouraging at all.
What about when satan attacks pioneers? You never hear of these.
I know of a young poineer couple who were involved in tragic car accident, the wife died. The were returning home after the meeting.
just curious, you always hear of the experiences in the yearbook or the wt about how jehovah provided for some lowly pioneer or disadvantaged person, or someone that put jehovah first.
were you ever personaly involved in one of the experiences or involved enough in the background to see how these experiences were authenticated for publications or assembly?
i'm wondering how much of these stories we hear are exaggerated or just outright lies, and what they had to do to sell it to us to motivate us to pioneer.
I think most R&F members are coached to give experiences. Always (over) emphasizing anything that will encourage others to dedicate more time / resources.
I remember being asked if I had any positive experiences.
60% of americans in one servey think the government did it.....even though there is no sold evidence.
let me spell it out.....a huge airplane full of fuel hit the building plowing thru the steel supports, thousands of witnesses, and video fotage, it almost flew through the building with debris blowing out the other side.
although it appears in the footage there is alot of smoke but no fire, right?
And I was expecting 10 pages by now.

So 60% of Americans are awake. It'll be a good day when that number is 90% or greater.
ok where i live in the pacific northwest in january of this year this elder from the hall called a special meeting and gave everyone some papers that he had gotten from some government place on what to put in an emergency bag to grab in case you have to flee your home in seconds.
i thought it was just my husbands hall being all strange and stupid over this.
one older sister said that the elder told everyone they needed three bottles of water for 14 days that is 42 bottles of water plus whatever other stuff they put in there not sure if she got that right because 42 bottles of water is a lot of weight.
Yes, we have an emergency bag all ready to go at a moment's notice. It's been gathering dust for the past 4 years.
it's only a couple of years away now and what a headache it must present to the gb - providing they have given it much thought already.
there probably is no elegant way of presenting the hundred year long failure of the end to come; the fact that the "short period of time" of satan being cast down to the earth has now stretched beyond any credibility.
but they have to deal with it one way or another.
They won't even mention it.
if you've been to the meeting when the letter was read, what was jw reaction????
just curious if it was just another sign that the end is nearer or did any wake up for a second to realize the corporation is downsizing due to costs..
I imagine when some go to collect their mags they'll notice, then they'll go back to the literature counter (20 mins later) and ask why the magazines are so thin. ... or maybe not?
the bible teach book uses the example of a math teacher who is challenged by a student who disagrees on how to resolve a math problem.
the teacher then lets him attempt to prove his point knowing that he can only fail.
the object of the exercise is to show the rest of the students that the teacher is right - that there is only one way to resolve the math problem....this is likened to jehovah letting satan exercise his power over the world so that the entire universe can witness his failure and that only jehovah's ways lead to happiness.... instead of maths, what if the teacher taught chemistry and a student would want to prove that the teacher is wrong when he says that certains chemicals can't be mixed without causing an explosion that would wipeout the school...would any sane, responsible, loving teacher allow such a student to experiment and wipeout the whole class just so the teacher can prove he was right?
Picture this illustration:- instead of math the subject was religion, and you were studying with Jehovah's Witnesses. You argued that you could run the organization better than the GB (despite the fact you're a drunkard, and have never run a business before). You're a great public speaker and very charismatic ...
Ooops I think they've tried that one before.
