To garyneal and Others, Evidence that the anointed remnants represented by the GB were selected in 1919.
by mankkeli in1st evidence: the release of loyal jews from exile, made possible by the fall of babylon, foreshadowed the release in 1919 of anointed christians from spiritual exile.
2nd evidence: that year marked the beginning of the period when the anointed remnants were released from a form of spiritual captivity to the ideas and practices of false religion.
although having rejected such false teachings as the trinity and the immortal soul, they were still tainted by babylonish practices.

I just have one question for mankkeli:- Are you counting hours on this forum on your field service report? Be honest!

So couldn't that very same Cowbird illustration be used against the Watchtower.
Christianity is the "other bird" who created the nest when Jesus was on earth, and laid spiritual "eggs". Then the lazy "Cowbird" Jehovah's Witnesses decided to hijack Christianity by planting their eggs in the nest. At first sight both eggs look spiritual, then the JW eggs hatch and consume all the resources of the host (e.g. witnessing, studying publications). The newly hatched Cowbirds will also kill any non-Cowbird chicks (i.e. by disfellowshipping those who disagree with JW teachings).

They're sending the Big Guns
by biometrics ini went to get in my car the other day.
before i could start moving engine a jw pulled his car in behind mine then got out and walked up to my window.
he then said "you must be brother <biometrics>", i said "i'm <biometrics>" then looked at him as if to say "who are you?".

I think when he comes over I'll take the dog for a walk, and leave them all to have a great time.

Doesn't sound like a definite appointment was struck with you. Just say that you are very busy and when you have time you will contact him. Just say that once, politely, and then hang up or shut the door, don't let him in if he just drops by. The problem is that your wife might let him in if he "drops by" unannounced.
If I do that, he'll probably come over with his wife, under the pretense of visiting my wife.

What was the best thing the WT did [for you]?
by fadinfast in.
for me it was putting in the fm at the assemblies, now i could listen to interesting things like the cricket, footy, fishing, news, even music [if i kept the volume down] without looking suspicious, instead of all that..... sure you know the story.

I would say reading skills. However the lack of crictical thinking was a big trade-off.

"I'm brother XXX, I can see you're going out now so I'll catch you another time. This is the third time I've called around, but you've been out".
As he left I turned to my wife (in the passenger seat), and said Who is that? she said "Oh that's sister YYY's father, he's just moved in". I later found out he's an elder and supposedly quite charismatic, and wealthy.
I guess I should prepare some questions to ask him when he arrives next? I'd like something that would be subtle enough that he doesn't suspect I'm "Apostate", yet something he couldn't answer, and would ... dare I say it ... "make him think".

If Jesus is not my mediator, why was I taught to pray through him?
by irondork inif jesus was never my mediator, as taught by the wts, .... .
worldwide security under the "prince of peace" (1986) pp.10-11 ch.1 the desire for peace and security worldwide .
likewise, the greater moses, jesus christ, is not the mediator between jehovah god and all mankind.

The same reason you were baptized in the name of the Watchtower instead of the Holy Spirit. You were deceived.

How Do JWs View Gluttony?
by Bubblegum Apotheosis inthis thread is dedicated to the judgemental fat and not so jolly elders and elderettes (non judgemental loving brethren, please disregard!)..
in my county, some of our appointed brothers and sisters are suffering from obesity, eating disorders and heavy drinkings.
what is the best way to approach brothers in charge, who are morbidly overweight, don't care about their physical appearance?

What gets me is that gluttony and poor dieteary choices are at least as bad as smoking, if not worse. Yet you'll never see a JW being disfellowshipped for being fat, having a sedentary lifestyle, eating junk, or other questionable lifestyle choices.
