  so we have a jw next door who went to the assembly over the w/e.

  yesterday she gave 'gift' to my wife for my kids.. that's right it was the sparlock dvd.

  i didn't know about the gift until i saw my kids watching it this morning.. is it safe to let my kids watch it?.

  Maybe then you need to have a" study"ith your neihbours reminding them how they were both productive succesful business people before becoming involved with jehovah`s witnesses,and rather than their being in a spiritual paradise,they are actually in a hell hole,that they need to get out of for the benefit of all the family before it`s too late.

  I think it may already be "too late" for them (except their oldest son).

  My best course of action is to "dissapear" Sparlock with my majical powers (when no-one's looking).

  The neighbor said the Organisation will be putting new Sparlock videos online for kids to watch. So I'd better put a parental block on that website too.

  Does your neighbor have children too? Why not invite their kids over to watch a "magic kingdom" movie with your kids?

  Yes they have kids, a lot older than mine. The oldest decided at age 14 he didn't want to go to meetings anymore, that caused the mum and dad to flip-out. The dad tried to hang himself. The second child has tried to hang himself too. I suspect from stress in the house.

  Both parents are perpetually on anti-depressants, and cannot work.

  It's a really sad situation. They both were productive business people before getting the 'truth'.

  "Dress Code" for JW Funeral / Memorial Service

  so, i'm attending a funeral for someone that was in the local congregation today.. i told my mom what i planned on wearing- a cute, dark grey blouse and some nicely tailored black pants.

  she just about lost it.. mom- "you can't wear pants, it's at the kingdom hall!!!".

  mom- "well, i guess you could, but you would feel so awkward and uncomfortable.

  when i started to fade it was pretty easy for me.

  It was easy for me. I never got baptized.

  When meeting or field service time came around I would make excuses such as "I don't think the JWs teach the truth", or "I'm tired of living a lie", and woudn't go. When elders come around to "visit" I ask questions they can't answer, and they leave very quickly.

  I never met a wealthy born-in JW. However, I know of a lot of wealthy JWs that became wealthy before they were indoctrinated as a JW.

  It's also funny to note how JWs treat fellow JWs who are educated/wealthy, compared with those that have low status jobs (window cleaners etc). Even in the "world" I've never seen such prejudice, and I work in an office where the CEO is worth somewhere above thirty million, and the office workers work for $15 per hour.

  my platform is simple: (1) no more neckties, and (2) the only disfellowshipping offense is child molestation... and it's a lifetime ban!.

  Because I'd try to immediately disband the organization, and proclaim most Jehovah's Witness beliefs to be spurious at best, criminal at worst. Then divide up all the assets and distribute them equally among child abuse victims, and the disfellowshipped.

  I can't imagine how that must feel. Because he has chosen this course of action it must feel worse than if he actually died, .

  My dad died when I was young. He was never a JW despite numerous attempts to convert him. But at least all his kids knew that he loved them.
