what would be the most important things you think someone should be aware about jws if they are planning on getting baptised as a jw?
imagine you are on a plane and get talking to the person next to you.
you find out they are considering becoming a jw but they are not sure.
It depends on how deep they are.
Most who are at the point of babtism have been constantly love-bombed up till that point. So anything you say would need to break through that barrier.
I'd probably let them do most of the talking, and only ask questions in a non-confrontational manner.
some elders enjoy giving the business to the lowly flock thru intimidation.

some love to ask you to enter with them into the "backroom".. of course, there were many that never had run-ins with the shepherds because they were under the radar.. did you ever get interrogatted by the elders and if so, how did it go??
Yes. Once for being seen with a "worldly" girl. We were just friends. We went to the beach together. An elder and his family were sitting right behind us. I was asked a lot of personal questions about exactlly what happened (at a public beach!).
Another time because I went to karate clases. They tried to say karate has some type of demon worship aspect to it? They asked if I prayed to any false gods there (I know WTF)?
by a split second rescuing our handicapped son from being pushed down the stairs by a flood of sisters rushing out to see as the drama had started.. the main offender being a special pioneer..
In the early 1980s mum took four kids to a convention in Sydney. It was pouring rain for most of the four days, and the seating was mostly outside. We all sat there in the rain with disposble raincoats on. Mum wouldn't let us get out of the rain, and gave a stern (almost crazy) look on her face if we even suggested it. The rain was that bad we coudln't even hear the speaker.
I ended up getting a the flu then a lung infection and took a few months to recover.
i want to purchase a couple of vintage watchtower publications to help in my helping jw's break free.
some of the older ones are expensive or hard to come by - i know you can buy them on cd's but i'd like to own one or two of the "classics of propaganda"- some of the ones that speak for themselves as to the ridiculousness of this religion.. of course any magazine i pick up today speaks to me of the ridiculousness, but you need something much more hardcore for the jw's.. any recommendations?.

I don't know where you got this idea from. I would say they would make haste to report it to the Police because the witnesses have a very well-developed way of seeing any violence as carried out by disaffected members who are no longer "in the truth". Besides, once anyone crosses the line from having an urge to punch to acting on that urge, they deserve the full weight of the law. That the OP shows how he controlled his urge is a credit to him.
Ooops. My bad. I forgot, it's only child sexual molestation cases where they don't involve authorities.

I noticed a small section in the bottom of a news article today:
According to unnamed WEWS-TV sources, a suicide note written by Castro several years ago outlines what he did and why.
He reportedly writes about needing help for sex addiction and blames his victims for getting into a car with him. The note also refers to family problems and a poor childhood.

One thing for sure. If you had of punched him he won't go to the police. They'd rather suffer in silence than have a police/media report saying there was a fist fight at a Jehovah's Witnesses kingdom hall between members.

it has been mentioned to me from an elder "friend" that i'm never seen at any meetings for field service.
i get his implication.
I wonder if JWs will allow time reporting on their website rather than filling out pieces of paper.
That way all the internet pioneers won't waste valuable time completing an antiquated time card, they can simply export their field service times from the browser history.
