My sister and I who are disfellowshipped have a JW elder as a father. Guess why Mom and Dad didn't tell us that our grandfather died a week ago? Thanks Watchtower for denying us our grandfather's funeral. I just found out a few minutes ago from an uncle. Grandpa wasn't even JW there's no reason we shouldn't have been there. Nice job Watchtower Society.

The Bible Students still exist!!

it looks like there was a split and some of the bible students never accepted that name.

I'd have to agree with the Bible Students in the fact that Jehovah's Witnesses were not really founded by Russell. I look at JW's as Rutherford's recruits from the Bible Students for his new religion. It resembled a corporate takeover. Rutherford assumed the assets but changed the mission statement and operations, downsized or replaced the management team, and lost most of the customer base along the way.

Has anyone been in one of the dramas while a JW?
by Nowman init probably was one of my few happy moments of being a jw.
my mom, dad, and i were asked to be in the modern day drama, think it was in 1988-1990 (not sure exactly).
i played a worldly girl named "dolly winters" who was considered a bold and brazon girl who eventually studied to become one of jws because of a good example jw that she went to school with.

Yes, it was the only time I got to wear a beard as a JW (or a skirt for that matter!) They almost decided not to have me wear the beard because of the age of my character, but I wanted a beard so I pointed out the character in My Book of Bible Stories complete w/ facial hair. Now that I'm out I always sport a beard, but not the skirt.

Questions for the District Overseer

however the mundane truth is that a local elder is fitting a straggling irregular publisher (that'll be me) into a rather desolate schedule for the visiting dignitary.

Mmm hmm. I was repentant and had completely discontinued my offending actions at the time of my Judicial Committee meeting. The elders literally laughed at me as they disfellowshipped me.

So, I was reading this post by a Witness who talked about how a hidden anagram reveals that Jehovah's Witnesses are definately the true religion!
Because an anagram for JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES actually is:
THE JEWISH SON SAVES.
I'm thinking, wow! A miracle! It's referring to Jesus. My eyes are opened!
So I decided to run an anagram program on some other JW terms and publication titles to see if there was any more divine secrets hidden in anagram form. Unfortunately, what I came up with did not exactly fall in line with this person's claim. Here's my list:

I was at a cafe where they had the sound down during halftime so I couldn't hear if he praised Jehovah at all. Doing All Along the Watchtower seems like kind of a diss to the Society, though.
