okay people, time to guess what new releases they're going to have at the 2004 district convention.
(btw, anyone know the "theme" of the convention for this year yet?).
i'll bet any money we'll get another shitty brochure.

these are midis of songs from musical notation recorded in ancient texts.
it's nothing like what you can download and stuff your hard drive with, but it's interesting to hear what might have been performed thousands of years ago.
i like the first song a lot and the athenaios one is pretty creepy.
"sing to jehovah, because he had beecome highly exalted, the horse and its rider he has pitched into the sea".
Remember that song came out in a bible drama about Moses before the new songbook came out.
i was looking on the thread on music when i just thought to ask that question.
for me, it was gwar's violence has arrived.
i remember loving that band so much when i first heard of them to the point where i downloaded everything they had, from album mp3's to rare bootlegs.
Motley Crue : Shout at the Devil. I can't even imagine what would have happened to me if I got caught with it!
you heard of the saying,"dancing to the devil's tune".did satan take the initiative of god out of his hands, making his whole course a constant reaction to what the devil would do?is everything on hold, until the' devil's tune 'is over?.
i read this somewhere, what do you think?anyone know where the saying,"dancing to the devil's tune originated from?.
blueblades
Everyone knows the Devil's tune is a Rolling Stones song.
hi ex jw's folks .
i'm a new member and have been reading some of your postings with great interest, and much laughter .
in one posting there was mention of the wts article about the new view of 'that generation' which i missed (as i was dfd at the time and missed the crucial meeting - naughty!
has helped us to refine our understanding
I love this. It's almost as if they are correcting us instead of admitting that their false prophesy is not coming to pass.
in the late 1970's john denver at one point in his concerts would ask any jehovah's witness in the crowd to please stand up.
once they were standing he would play the national anthem!
hillarious.. here's a trick you can try.

Here's a trick you can try. Call a local Kingdom Hall. When someone answers "Hello, Kingdom Hall" say "Ha! You just said hello to a disfellowshipped person!" and hang up.
Or, get a bunch of friends together for a flash mob at one of the conventions. Then start clapping at really inappropriate times during the talks. Leave right before security asks you to.
Anyone got any more?
wow!
i longed for the day when the last of the anointed remnant was on his/her death bed and all of the witnesses awaited to be swept away into the new system.. who knew that they could just, with one stroke of "new light" change everything and do away with this hope/doctrine.
how many times did i preach it from door to door and misrepresent god and the bible!
wow!

one thing that is commonly brought up is how the society has made so many mistakes and uttered so many false prophecies.
i just wonder what would happen if the watchtower ever came out and asked forgiveness for their sins and asked to start a clean slate.
(you know, like the pope did a couple of years ago).
Love it, Huxley.
were you the type to always jot down every little detail the brothers said from the podium?.
i found it amusing when especially sisters were always writting notes in their pads when the brother was giving a talk in the front.. i wonder if it was because they found the topic interesting, or because they wanted to look as if they were learning something.. i was all ears, but never took down notes.
that's odd, coming from a person who is "visual".
Dad was an elder. Taking notes was mandatory. This was just so that everyone in the congregation knew we were better than them.
