Unexpected call from my JW Sister - Unbelievable Hypocrisy!
by chichimama_2 ini posted a long experience earlier today along with an email letter from my sister.
sent to me back in january informing me she was going to be shunning me.. had not heard a word from her for 6 months then.
my sister called out of the blue one evening last month.

I'm sorry you are dealing with this. I have 2 JW sisters but so far they haven't shunned me. I was never baptized, but raised a JW. I fear that one day they WILL decide that being associated with me is "bad", but I hope they have better sense than that. I know you love your sister and it just sucks that this religion puts these people in a position where they have to choose their family over the "organization". What I don't understand is these people do not shun wordlings..most work with and have lunch with people not in their religion and have no problem associating with family members who have never been to a KH...yet just because someone has learned about the religion and then chooses NOT to be a part of the cult, they completely turn their backs on that person. It makes no logical sense at all. You're still the same person and have done nothing wrong! They treat strangers at the door with more love and respect than their own flesh and blood. Heartbreaking...and she SHOULD feel ashamed for how she is treating you. I'm sure deep down she knows this is wrong.

So ... what happens when we die?
by sacolton inwhat do you personally believe happens after we die?
i don't believe we really know everything about god or the afterlife.
i do believe that we do transform to something beyond our physical comprehension.

Thanks justmom...do you believe this resurrection is to everlasting life on earth or is it in Heaven? Also, the ones who are resurrected after the 1,000 years...they don't get to learn about God and Jesus? They are just judged on their past life and put to death again? I thought the point of the 1,000 year reign was to teach unbelievers and those that are resurrected about God...that's what I was always told but honestly never really gave it much thought until I lost my son. Now my sister and all her JW friends call me constantly trying to get me to come back to the KH ( I was never baptized but spent my childhood going to KH) The thing is, I am desperate for some comfort in regards to seeing my son again. I can't stand being without him, but much as I want to believe what they tell me, I DO read the Bible and much of what they tell me I just can't find there. I just want the truth. I just want my son.
Thanks for taking the time to explain what you believe.

justmom...what about children who die? They don't get resurrected until after the 1,000 years? My sister, who is a JW, told me my son would be resurrected DURING the 1,000 year reign of Christ. I just dont know what to believe anymore.
Thanks

Anyone Besides Me Have Difficulty Saying The Word "Jehovah"?
by Low-Key Lysmith ineven when i was a devout witless, i always winced a bit when i heard or especially had to utter "jehovah".

Of course there are going to be "bad people" in every organization and no one can blame an organization for that...it's the cover up that puts them at fault. They have an obligation to the congregation to let the members know of ANY and EVERY potential danger to themselves, and especially to their children. Witnesses are so quick to trust eachother...."if he's a brother he must be ok" and they let their guard down. This is SCARY. If this had been a teacher in their child's school, and the board of education knew of this man's past and said that they would just "keep an eye on him" but allow him to have unlimited and unsupervised contact with their children, you can bet they wouldn't be singing the praises of the board of education!
