Propganda of the worst kind. This is total bull shit. JW's don't advocate the violence that took place on 9/11. Nor do they advocate the violence that is going on in Afghanistan involving more deaths of innocent people. JW's are known for their refusal to carry on violence. On the other hand if some god wants to carry out justice that is another matter.

There is a difference between an actual god and a possible god. All of the proof I've seen from theists is an attempt at establishing the possibility of god. An actual god would require extraordinary evidence.
i have become quite frustrated recently.. why is it so difficult to prove or reason on a point with someone who holds a opposite viewpoint?.
you can recite the known facts of a situation over and over but some people will not get it.. being able to articulate a point clearly to another person and for them to understand can seem like a black art.. this is much worse in a verbal debate.it is hard when talking with someone to disscus a subject properly.. you start of on one point and before you know it the conversation has moved off in another tangent.. this is why i feel written aurguments hold more weight.you can not change the subject .also it is more vital that you get your facts right in written articles as people are more likely to check where as in a verbal disscusion it is easy say something you know is not provable or valid in the heat of the moment.. but you've got to get the person then to read , that can often be harder than getting them to converse with you.. so what do you think which is the better method of getting a point accross verbal or written.. (god i'm bad at spelling)
In verbal arguments I always reach for a pencil and pad of paper. I will put their statments in good argument form SINCE...(premise)THEREFORE...(conclusion). I then ask them if this is the best form of their argument? I will modify it with their input until they are satisfied. Then I will proceed to hack away.
If people don't want to put the time required to argue constructively then they are violating the "good faith" requirement. They probably just want to swap opinions. Who has time for that?

I guess you are classing me as a defender of the Watchtower. If I am a defender then they are really doomed. My comments are focused on poorly thought out, knee-jerk, cheap, criticism of the Watchtower. Much of what you say (notice I didn't say ALL - because you have produced some real gems of criticism) is just wishful thinking that emerges from the frustration of still having to do business with the organization. Maybe I'm wrong but I got the idea that you still attend meetings?
It pisses me off that they still have some power over me through my relatives etc. But I am realistic enough to know that the Watchtower has a good 20 years of life in it if some big "prophecy" doesn't bail them out.

it appears the watchtower has altered its official policy judging from the reports on the recent elder seminar.. allowing serial cases to be counted as two or more witnesses is similar to the exception courts make in child abuse cases.
ordinariily a jury is not to consider evidence from one case as bearing on another case but this is allowed in the case of child abuse.. i never expected them to fold this easily.

Children can only talk about what they PERCEIVE to be the truth. If you knew anything about the methods some social workers use to elicit "truth" from children you wouldn't be impressed by the hearsay testimony of a child any more than the hearsay testimony of an adult.
In tests, 50% of children claimed doctors "touched them there". Part of the controls was that the doctor absolutely would not check private parts.

Wishful thinking. Actually malicious thinking. The reality is that the door to door work of JW's is not a threat to the community. It might even hurt the coffee shops and restaurants :)
JW's have been banned before. That doesn't stop their growth. What stops JW's is apathy.

WRONG: I am opposed to MOST of what the Watchtower teaches. However, I believe the Silent Lambs issue is a left over from the 1980's. A lot of damage has been done to innocent people in the name of safe- guarding children from molestation.

Jehovah's Witnesses don't talk to each other about their religion. They talk sports, stocks, even politics. The Watchtower writers know the arguments being presented on the internet. These arguments are conspicuously ignored.

I am glad to see the Watchtower begin to move in the direction of a compromise. By the time the TV show hits the Watchtower will be on fairly safe ground. Silent Lamb's real agenda is silencing the Watchtower and he uses the Child Molestation simply as his preferred instrument for bashing.
