"Science and Sanity" available free on-line
by proplog2 inthe book "science and sanity" by alfred korzybski is probably the most important book i've ever read.. it can turn ordinary minds into "genius" minds.
(i'm not a genius but i certainly was an impaired imbecile before i read it).. it's not a quick read.
the first part of the book is mostly non mathematical and i've read it several times.

Snipped out of Wikipedia
Korzybski's work influenced Gestalt Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, and Neuro-linguistic programming (especially the Meta model). As reported in the Third Edition of Science and Sanity, The U.S. Army in World War II used his system to treat battle fatigue in Europe under the supervision of Dr. Douglas M. Kelley, who also became the psychiatrist in charge of the Nazi prisoners at Nuremberg. Other individuals influenced by Korzybski include Kenneth Burke, William S. Burroughs, Frank Herbert, Albert Ellis, Gregory Bateson, Buckminster Fuller, Douglas Engelbart, Stuart Chase,Alvin Toffler, Robert A. Heinlein, L. Ron Hubbard, A. E. van Vogt, Robert Anton Wilson, entertainer Steve Allen, and Tommy Hall (lyricist for the 13th Floor Elevators); and scientists such as William Alanson White (psychiatry), physicist P. W. Bridgman, and researcher W. Horsley Gantt (a former student and colleague of Pavlov). He also influenced the Belgian surrealist writer of comics Jan Bucquoy in the seventh part of the comics series Jaunes: Labyrinthe, with explicit reference in the plot to Korzybski's "the map is not the territory."
In part the General Semantics tradition was upheld by Samuel I. Hayakawa, who did have a falling out with Korzybski. When asked over what, Hayakawa is said to have replied: "Words".

It's not a quick read. The first part of the book is mostly non mathematical and I've read it several times. The last part of the book explains relativity and I only read that once.

I liked the movie because it isn't too often you see the "wise-fool" character out in the open. The movie wasn't anti-semetic. USA is sitting on a pool of anti-semeticism and racism. The "fool" gets the last laugh because he really is a jew.

This role-playing that mixes the real with the unreal is very Jewish. Charlie Chaplin Pee Wee Herman Andy Kaufmann Don Rickles Larry David Albert Brooks Marx Brothers Borat (Cohen) Jack Benny Woody Allen It's hard to tell where these characters leave off and where the real person begins. Jews aren't the only ones who do this kind of humor but they certainly do it best.

Some people live in their mind. (thinkers/intellectuals)
Some people live in their gut. (feelers)
Some people live in the action of their muscles (doers)
Some people live in the "world". (Philosophers)
There IS room for recreational pursuits (things you don't have to do)

Mother Teresa doubted God's existence during her last years
by Gregor inher personal diarys and letters have revealed she doubted gods reality and this in turn caused her to ask herself "is jesus true?
" she no longer prayed right up until her death.
in my opinion this in no way detracts from her being a wonderful, self sacrificing woman.
