Looking for reasons to continue living is an absurd passtime.
It is one of those luxuries we can engage in because evolution gave us a big brain.
Start looking instead for a reason to die. Some big cause you can disolve your life in.
.
i would be interested in hearing a few.
for the life of me (pun intended) i can't think of any good ones.. robyn

when i got home from work last night my son was there and i was suprise to see him because it was meeting night and everyone else was gone.
then his mother comes in hmmmmmm "did your son tell you what he has done?
" nope well he has been having sex with his girlfriend the baptized pioneer elders daughter yikes my son (not baptized) and her were girlfriend and boyfriend untill her daddy stop them from seeing each other.
Premarital sex is definitely a taboo among JW's. If you want to comit fornication and you want to be encouraged to fornicate then you are in the wrong organization.
But I defninitely believe you should be able to confess your sins to whomever you feel comfortable with. You should also be able to go to God in prayer without any human agent and confess your sins.
I am against fornication as a practice. It has a weakening effect on society, family, marriage and it can be emotionally damaging to some.
after reading so many experiences about how being a jw affected a person's life, i wonder how your life has turned out because you were at one time a witness.
Minimus:
You are continuing your unfounded propaganda. You correctly point out that the word "many" is not appropriate when speaking about the few responding on this thread . But then you follow this up by accusing me of seeing white where it's "all" black. That's propaganda - it isn't ALL black or white.
You then ignore the most significant population - the six million JW's who continue to go to the Kingdom Hall three times per week and get in 8-10 hours of service each month. Although I don't agree with much of what JW's teach I personally know of many people whose lives are better because of the moral direction they receive as member of the organziation.
not really sure what brought this on but lately i have been thinking about what i have done with my life and what i want to do with it.. as a jw we weren't really supposed to have dreams of the future unless it involved a paradise earth and immortality.
i can remember dreams of granduer in the entertainment field amongst other things.. i think it might be the fact that in a few years i will be at that *gasp* dreaded age (yeah its only 30 but its still a big deal for me) and feeling like i haven't accomplished anything with my life.
am i depressed?
Quit blaming unfulfilled dreams on cults. There is no guarantee that you would be any happier or reached more of your goals before you die if you had never been a JW.
Your JW dreams are gone. Someday your Non-JW dreams will vanish also.
may you all have peace... .
.... and the answer can be found at genesis 6:1-4. cain was afraid of being killed... and the only killers... or "fellers"... of men... at that time... were the nephilim... "avengers of blood"... who were in the earth at that time.
these, by reason of being spirit beings were "like god, knowing good (life) and bad (death), for vengeance was their vocation.. these... were posted outside eden... stationed in the land of fugitiveness... or "nod.

How many agents do you need to keep track of at most a dozen people? Your explanation doesn't seem any more credible than the orginal story.
Who was Cain afraid of? Obviously the Noddites - the many inhabitants of Nod.
This story is self-refuting.

To what extent do you think it is good to let hormones control you? There seems to be some underlying glee you are expressing.
I believe society in general was better off when there was an effort to control one's sexual desires. Guilt may be the best method of controlling sex until a person matures.
It is better to have sex than to go crazy, however.
Free will is an ongoing debate with philosophers. Whether there is or isn't we find it pleasureable to be rewarded for our good deeds and we are kept in line by society's assumption that we are responsible for our bad acts as well.
It seems it is one of many recursive concepts that we employ. We have free will as long as we believe we do. What do you know? We actually can choose to believe or not believe that we have free will.

Still clinging to pie in the sky? I would love to believe that kind of stuff. Unfortunately it is so wonderful on the other side that they completely forget about their old friends and fail to send an unambiguous message back here.

Minimus:
Isn't interesting that some people don't feel their lives were completely ruined by JW's. Many honestly admit that ordinary parental neglect, alcoholism, etc. were more influential on their lives than a "high-control" religion.
what do you think it is?
Minimus:
You have made it clear that you are a propagandist. Let no one mistake your evaluations of the JW organization as an objective point of view.
And CHRISTIANS didn't go into people's homes to take whatever they wanted . The Jews did, though. So, act like the Jews of old because that type of action isn't what Christ would do.
Like a typical propagandist you resort to the strawman fallacy. You are misrepresenting a view that has been expressed by "some" JW's. JW's don't believe that it is "OK to go into people's homes and take whatever they want." Do you think it's ok for the government to confiscate homes & autos of drug dealers? I do.
So why would you deliberately distort the expressions of JWs on this point? You have carefully chosen misleading words and subtly include your own commentary. You are every bit as deceitful as you claim the JW's are.
That is what I detest in this forum.
