All of those techniques sound familiar. My old hall had several brothers pioneering who never seemed to talk to anyone but had their time by spring by starting their time at 7am and ending at 2p, counting everything in between. 3 days a week x 7 plus the obligatory Saturday using a similar method yielding 5 hrs gives one a grand total of 26 hrs per week. Doing this means one has their time in 32-33 weeks with about 4 to 5 months to coast or take a vaca...

I am new here and need help...or just a listening ear
by Fallingaway inmy husband and i have two small children, one of which recently became an unbaptised publisher and joined the school.
my husband is an elder and firmly committed to our family and loves me deeply as i love him.
i would like to find a way for all of us to fade away as we have family in the organization that we do not want to lose.

It is so sad that a label, a mere word cast upon another person can divide families and hurt innocent people. As was brought out on another thread a while back, it's not the ACTIONS of a person but that LABEL thrust upon them without option that causes divisions. Without those words, so many families would stay intact and fewer people would suffer the unavoidable, ensuing mental anguish that is certain to happen. Jesus would have never acted in this way. Period.

Parents forum - moaning about JW's knocking
by not bitter inone of the mums on this forum is complaining about dubs knocking her door.
she wont answer the door because they unintentionally upset her very much the last time they called which was a few years back.
apparently she answered the door and the witness ladies opening statement, with a lovely smiling face, was .

all that needs to be done is post a no trespassing sign. jw's r instructed to not go to homes with these signs or they r on their own legally. even the most uber elder pioneer in my former hall skipped those houses. we took addresses to write but never went to the houses.

And it's hard to not want to sprint once you are awake. Putting the brakes on takes great will power when one is surrounded by the infuriating craziness that is the org. I am hoping her hubby starts to wake up as well.

My last meeting was the end of December 2011. I saw too much over the top hypocrisy and politics plus the 1914/generation thing bugged me as well as no birthdays but baby showers and wedding anniversaries are fine. Waaaay too many double standards. Tell a householder to analyze their own beliefs and change no matter what and jw's ask one valid but unanswerable question and r labeled apostates. It's the arbitrary labels placed upon ones based on which set of elders one gets in their game of spiritual roulette. An elder stopped by the other day. Just one. I told him that I was NEVER coming back. He said "but I want you to live". I said "for the first time in my life, I am".

in one way i feel good about takeing care of myself and my mother who is on her dead bed in the room next to me.
mom has live with me since 2005 and started to make her journey to the other side on christmas day.

As a pediatric hospice nurse for several years and a family member of 4 persons who used hospice I cannot tell you how invaluable their help was. As a hospice nurse we focused not only on the needs of the patient but those of the family. I have never worked with more a more caring group of healthcare workers. I am so sorry Roberta and my thoughts are with you and your mom right now. I hope you both receive the love, support and respect you both deserve during this very difficult time.
