There was a pioneer in one of my congs. who was a real sanctimonious prat. To really annoy him, me and another brother would always stop and INSIST that we gave him a lift to the top of the 3 mile hill he was walking very slowly up, knowing full well that this would totally ruin his plan of getting 2 1/2 hours in. He would come up with all sorts of reasons why he wanted to walk but we would never take no for an answer! It was obvious after a few times what we were doing, but he could never admit to what he was doing, which used to rile him even more!!

``Quality Time'' in Field Service: Fact or Fiction
by Room 215 inbased on comments in various threads, it seems that many of you are acquainted with the various ``dodges'' jws use to strech out their field service time: foot-dragging, driving around on return visits from one far-flung end of the territory to the other, the skilful avoidance of contact with housholders, coffee breaks, etc.
etc.. do you have any impression of how pervasive these time-wasting such practices are, and what proportion of the time reported by jws is actually bogus and not spent productively?
or, put another way, how rare is is to encounter who just loves to go out and who uses his/her time efficiently from beginning to end?.

You're Anointed? Nooooooooo!
by Englishman ini hear stories that jw's really hate it when someone suddenly claims to be of the "anointed" class.
apparently, such new claims are strongly discouraged.. my jw mum says that the reason for this is that when someone claims to be anointed, it can only mean that they are replacing someone else.
in other words, an anointed person has "fallen away from the truth".

Aguest.
I think that you are just splitting hairs.
There are several phrases which basically mean the same thing:-
Born again.
Child of God.
Giving ones life to Christ.
Asking Jesus to come into our life.
Being saved.
Being part of the Body of Christ.
Someone who is part of Christ's church.I think you are saying you are a Spirit filled Christian.
I am too.As for 1John5:1 I think that "born" is a perfectly acceptable transalation. The word used is in Strongs Concordance, word no. 1080.
The same word is used at John 3:3 and Acts 22:3 in two totally unrelated texts. Born is the correct transalation.
However, I see the point you are making. In the context of my original statement and in line with my believe in Christ as Lord there is nothing wrong in using the phrase "born again"
I have to go out now so I cant reply to an ything you post but I will read it and post later.
Peace to you too.

Hi Amazing.
I see. I'm a Christian too and believe that all Christians are "anointed" or born again. 1 John 5:1.
If you were a JW I was going to ask how you viewed this and how you kenw you were "anointed"

Aguest.
Jesus said "unless you are born again you cannot enter the Kingdom of heaven."
So if you're not "born again" then there is a bit of a problem.
Apart from that. . . what on EARTH are you on about???
I think we are on the same side but you are a bit dramatic.
I'm trying to be serious here but can anyone else tell me if Aguest is serious or just a wind up?

Appeal for CALM
by Amazing inwhen the tragic events took place tuesday, i did not post right away, as i feared my own anger and hurt would lead to careless comments on my part.
but, once i started the nato post, that all changed, and in retrospect, i regret speaking as soon as i did.
i think i said too many hurtful things out of anger, and may have fueled the flames, even if my comments technically did not call for hurting innocent people.

Hi Amazing.
I just posted a question for you on Emans " anointed" thread.
Are you a JW who is one of the 144 000?
I have a few questions if you want to reply on Emans thread.

Hey, I'm with you!
I'm a born again Christian. I was just wondering as it seems that Amazing is a JW who says he's anointed and I had some questions for him/her.
I don't dispute anything you say, although I do think you freak some out!

Hi
I just posted a question for you on Eman's "Anointed" thread.
Are you a JW who claims to be anointed?
I'm fairly new to the DB so I don't know exactly who's who.

Jesus' illustration of the Wheat & Weeds Ma...
by wokeup inthis question is addressed to those who still esteem and value gods' word.
those of us who were raised in the "trooth" we were taught that the "sons of the kingdom" pertained only to the "faithful slave".
in jesus' illustration of the end time harvest period, the angels separate the wheat from the weeds , distinguishing two distinct parties.

Normie67.
The illustration teaches that true CHRISTIANS would be in and amongst the weeds.
The true RELIGION doesn't exist. God doesn't deal with us organisationally or corporately. Only individually.
There aren't 2 classes. There is ONE flock. As Outnfree noted the "other sheep" are the Gentiles. John 10:16 was fulfilled with Cornelius' conversion and the Gentile fusion from then on.
"One hope, One faith, One baptism" A statement totally unreconcilable under JW interpretation. They teach "Two hopes , maybe one faith(?), Two baptisms"
