You're Anointed? Nooooooooo!

I hear stories that JW's really hate it when someone suddenly claims to be of the "Anointed" class. Apparently, such new claims are strongly discouraged.

My JW Mum says that the reason for this is that when someone claims to be anointed, it can only mean that they are replacing someone else. In other words, an anointed person has "Fallen away from the truth". It is, therefore, no "Cause for rejoicing".

I wonder if this is the generally accepted view? Could it be though, that it would be disastrous to have an increase in partakers at the next Memorial?

Dearest Englishman... may you have peace.

And may you tell you dear mom, for ME... that she has been misled. And seriously so. Permit me to tell you why:

when someone claims to be anointed, it can only mean that they are replacing someone else. In other words, an anointed person has "Fallen away from the truth".

Yet, when Noah and his family 'entered into the ark', it was my Father... who closed the 'door'. Yes? Well, the same is TRUE... today.

The 'door'... to the 'ark' of the NEW Covenant... is my Lord. And it is only when HE tells my Father 'enough'... that my Father will CLOSE that 'door'... and take no more into that 'ark'... the New Covenant... which is the means for salvation... by the blood of my Lord which ratifies it... HOLY SPIRIT... for all those 'entering' into it.

    John 10:7
    John 14:6

And that 'door' has NOT yet been closed, for indeed, I am HERE to tell you that the Spirit... AND the Bride... KEEP saying:

    "COME! Take 'life's water' free!"

Indeed, even until NOW... the invitation is to ANYONE who 'wishing' and ANYONE 'thirsting' and ANYONE 'hearing'... to "Come!"

The 'door' is still open, dear one. The 'Way' has not yet been cut off.

    Matthew 25:45, 46

There is yet a 'voice'... crying out in the wilderness saying "THIS is the Way, you people... walk in HIM."

And it is my 'commission'... my life's 'work'... to extend that invitation. To you, dear EMan... as well as to your mother, if indeed either of you so 'wish' it.

I bid you peace and I am,

YOUR servant and a slave of Christ,

    SJ

The reason I have noticed most JWs dislike people in their congregations suddenly becoming "annointed" is that they don't believe them. As I understand it, the number of partakers at the Memorial celebration generally has stayed the same. The number of those partaking of the emblems should be plummeting if we are so close to The End. They should be dying off as time goes along. I understand the number has even increased some years! Maybe someone here knows the stats and can put them up for us to see.

The other thing I've noticed is that those who start partaking are usually the kooky ones at the hall. Every hall has its nutcase unfortunately, and apparently Jehovah is not too discriminating who is a member of the 144,000. LOL

    Annointed since 1995 (wink, wink)

Hi Englishman: I think Megadude is correct that those newly caliming to be Anointed are not believed. This is understandable because JWs are taught to view new claims of anointing with suspecion. The new partaker is scrutinized for their length of time in the organization, position in the heirarchy, and performance in service.

When I openly made the claim to be Anointed, I was still an MS. I later because an Elder, and was very active in service helping many to become JWs. So, as I aged, and the congregation became used to my existence, the suspecion and disbelief subsided.

When I moved, I had to prove myself all over again, and succeeded until I became disaffected with the religion, then in an almost instant, I was viewed with extreme negativity, and doubts about my ever being Anointed in the first place floated to the top of the discussion. JWs almost seem to have a love-hate relationship with their Anointed. And even a minor misstep can quickly change a positive acceptance into a serious rejection. - Amazing

    Amazing.

Let me get this straight. You are a JW and one of the anointed?

Are you a JW and anointed too?

Hi Pubsinger: I started associating with the JWs in the 1960s, and was baptized in 1970. I claimed to be Anointed during most of my years as a JW. I served as an MS and Elder and was very active in helping many to become JWs. I started having concerns in the 1980s, but did not begin to really put things together until the early 1990s. I walked away in may 1992, and tried to make it a quiet departure. But, that was not to be, and in 1995, I understand that I was forcibly DA'd. So, I am no longer a JW.

I am still Christian, but I no longer view 'anointing' as the JWs do. Rather, to me, 'Anointing' is just one among many features of being Christian. I have also expressed some concerns over certain topics in the Bible and have questioned some accounts of God's actions. This was not done to disrespect God, but in an effort to stimulate discssion as I try to make sense of some issues that I find hard to accept.

I have posted a number of comments and main threads about JW Anointing, my experiences, and some older and interesting Watchtower articles. You can find these by going to the search window, and check for the last 3 months or maybe one year. Then type in Anointing or Anointed, and you will pull up my postings along with others where I have commented. It may be several pages, but the one most interesting is the 1952 Watchtower. If you type in "1952" you will go straight to that posting and all its comments.

If you wish to discuss this privately, you may email me at: [email protected]. I will be happy to answer your questions, both in JW light and in how I now view this topic. Thanks. - Amazing

    Hi Amazing.

I see. I'm a Christian too and believe that all Christians are "anointed" or born again. 1 John 5:1.

If you were a JW I was going to ask how you viewed this and how you kenw you were "anointed"

    Pub.
