here are some interesting comments i found on a jw site today.

hello everyone.i just joined this group today and just wanted to introduce myself.my name is ---------------and i live in-------------i am a member of -------------congregation.i was born into the truth and married a brother from -------------.we have been married 8 years come may and have two beautiful boys ages 6 and 3.our 6 year old has asbergers syndrome-a high functioning form of autism.meetings are really hard for him and us.i suffer from schizotypal personality disorder -similar to schizophrenia.most of the time i cannot go to meetings because i cannot handle being around all those people.i came here hoping to have some fellowship and encouragement in these times of the last days are closely upon us.
I'm not being cynical here, but I just found in odd that about 10 years ago after Awake ran an article on ME, lots of JWs suddenly started to suffer from it. I don't know what the National average per 1000 is here in the UK, but out of a tiny congregation of only 50 publishers, we had 4 sufferers.
Just a thought on the health of JWs.
went over to a disassociated witnesses house the other night,.
former org hatchet man,now as violently opposed to the org as he was, once, enslaved by them.. hes talkin "raymond franz says this...franz says that" all night.. it made me sick to my guts.. franz was pure borg heirachy, born and bred to power.. now hes opposed (if he aint dead by now)and these ex borg mind slaves are still listening to the guy like hes a repository of truth.. im not attacking ray franz,hes probably a nice guy,im just floating an idea.
what is a free mind?.
When I first read CoC and CF, my thoughts were these:
"If what I'm reading is true, then alot of things I have believed for 30yrs are wrong; and the Organisation I believe to be God's Channel cannot be what it claims. However, if the things in these books are NOT true, then the books are worthless and possibly evil and vindictive."
I then went on 6mths of research to CHECK whether they were true or not. They were accurate. So I left to continue serving God without the WT.
my wife is a saved christain.
she believes all that crap.
her sister playes the piano and sings in the churches.
I think that for all the failings of the WT, here is their biggest error.
Gods Spirit does not operate ORGANISATIONALLY.
It operates on INDIVIDUALS.
Hence the scenario above.
But this doesn't mean that there are no Spirit directed Christians within the above "Church".
Apply this reasoning consistently and we must arrive at the conclusion that within the flawed organisational walls of the WT, there are still "true Christian people", accepted by God and "worshipping in Spirit and Truth.
i've been able to maintain contact with a jw friend--even though i've been out of the organization for over 20 years.
i brought up the un subject with him and got this interesting reply.

It seems to me that JWs who reply as above or with the "Library Ticket" response have made a completely incorrect interpretation by equating the UN with "Governmental Authorities" (Superior Authorities as in Romans)
The UN is not a Government. It is not part of the "Superior authorities placed by God".
It is a club. With its own "association rules". Association with it is purely a matter of choice.
If it were as evil as they believe, no amount of resources (even literary) would justify their association. They wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.
To attempt to put the UN in the same bracket as Governments is simply not possible from their standpoint.
And perhaps Catholicguy could ask his friend exactly what WOULD constitute an immoral liason with the "Image of the Beast" when only a Government can "Join" the UN, whereas all the other NGOs, some of which are organisations with religious connections, can only "associate" in the same manner as the WTBTS.
i have been disassociated for almost ten years and would not step foot into a kingdom hall if you paid me.
i have been lurking around the board for the past month or so making posts hear and there but i am confused.
it sounds like there is a great deal of you who frequent the board still attend the kingdom hall.

The MOBO awards have got to be the most racist awards ever. I do not know how they get away with it. Sure there are a few token "white" artists, but can you imagine the uproar at the "Only music with ABSOLUTELY NO black influence AT ALL" awards.
Its just an euphemism for excluding other cultures and causing divisions in something which is universal.
And as arguably all popular music has its roots in black blues (sic)music, then everything should be allowed in.

I saw them at Sheffield Arena UK.
I think "Kiss me, Kiss me Kiss me" is my fave Cure CD. Post-Wish I really like "Wild Mood Swings" and I loved "Bloodflowers" from last year.
And "Head on The Door" and "Disintegration" and "The Top" and . . . on and on . . .

I have seen The Cure and they are awesome. I had heard all the tales about 3hr gigs, but I wasn't sure if they were just apocraphal.
Well I can tell you they are not.
There was no support. 8.00pm on the dot on stage 11.05pm finished.
And what a gig for the fans. With nearly 20 albums they could have just trotted out the singles, but no, classic album track after classic album track.
When they did "Prayers for rain" off "Disintegration" my all time fave, my wife had to restrain me!!
Other favourites: Sting
U2 (I saw the Joshua Tree Tour too. One week B4 the DA at the same stadium!)
Eurhythmics. '86 Revenge Tour. Brilliant.
And finally if you ever get the chance to see this guy, and he is still touring/recording, go, he is unbelievable. GARY NUMAN.
