An Active JW Sister Modelling For Me
by pale.emperor insince leaving the borg i jumped both feet first into classes i've always wanted to do but was never "allowed" to.
two of which are life drawing and photography.
i've been studying for almost two years now and have seen more nude men and women in our classes than i care to remember.. today in the photography studio i was working in with three others (two women, one man) we were told we had a new person modelling for us.

Is your daughter that knows a JW?
If you're moving, don't give your correct address. Boom. Gone.
Ah I just saw your post on page 2 about being separated from your husband. So he could give your address.

Hello Again
by everbrighterhal ini'm sorry if this is in the wrong category!
i am formerly adimmedlight, or something close to that.
i have been lurking here a few years now and while i did make an account before, i used a fake email (i no longer remember it, since it was made only to log in the one time i posted.. )because i was so paranoid people in my home town would discover me and "out" me.

The Trinity Easily Explained in 29 Words
by maccauk ina man can be a father .
a man can be a son.
a man can be a husband.

It's been discussed many, many times here. Whether you believe/accept the Trinity is of no real relevance, but what is important is understanding the principle mechanics of the doctrine. A quick Google will reveal that 'The Trinity' never says that the Father and Son (and Holy Spirit) are the same person. Never.

Grocery Store conversation with an elder
by problemaddict 2 ini'm inactive here to the local jw's as i have faded.
i've been slandered and all that, shunned by some but not all, but the elders basically leave me alone.
i still run into to people all over though.

Hi from England
by victimofdeceit inrecently quit being a jw because i realised that beyond armageddon i was going to be ruled by people who cover up child abuse, not telling the congregations by their letter where the money they donated in the box is going towards paying compensation for legal battles which they caused, and also i was bullied by elders and discriminated against for being homosexual, even though i am not practicing it.
it wasn't until i threatened legal action for a breach of confidence that the elders were deleted.
so through the media and my own personal experience, i realised that they were no different to corrupt businesses in the world.

How does the WTS explain away THIS scripture?
by Searching ini'm honestly in awe about this particular scripture (and honestly i can't keep thanking jwfacts enough for providing biblical contradictions to the jw doctrine!).
"john said to him: "teacher, we saw a certain man expelling demons by the use of your name and we tried to prevent him, because he was not accompanying us.
" but jesus said: "do not try to prevent him, for there is no one that will do a powerful work on the basis of my name that will quickly be able to revile me; for he that is not against us is for us.

Moderate, progressive JWs? Have always known that there are people that serve and please God in every org?
Except when someone who was a JW leaves and attaches themselves to 'another org' and 'still' believes in God and carries on serving. Then they all stop being 'moderate and progressive' and start saying 'APOSTATE!'

A JW explains Blood Fractions
by OrphanCrow ini was looking around from some information on the wt's stance concerning the use of stem cells, and i came across this article on a defending jehovah's witnesses blog.. rather than informing the reader all that much about stem cells, the author diverts the conversation into a discussion of "blood fractions" (*note: the term "blood fractions" appears to be another one of those wt bloodspeak terms coined by the wt.
"blood components" or "blood products" are the terms used more frequently by the medical world.
"fractions" implies tiny amounts).

Ask a JW if it's ok to be a blood donor? No blood fractions can be obtained without blood donation. If blood donation 'breaks God's law' then no fractions can be allowable.
The stealing a car and selling its parts analogy is totally correct. It can never be a matter of conscience.

WT Apology
How do we view it when ones in positions of congregational authority fall short and do not meet the high standards Jehovah sets? Sadly this does happen from time to time but we must remember that Jehovah is merciful and forgiving. If you have suffered at the hands of a member of the congregation, even if it was an elder, what is the Christian way to act? Jesus said we should forgive our brother 77 times. Are we willing to do that? Or must we, like this world which is controlled by Satan, demand 'justice'? Let us show a forgiving spirit and not bring reproach on Jehovah's name. By doing this we will store up treasures in heaven.

Ha ha terrific!
I did that 'verbally' to two elders who came round 18 years ago.
I said:
'Just leave me and my family alone. But let me be totally clear that I am NOT disassociating myself and I am NOT going to do so. And if I hear that you have made ANY kind of announcement about me....'
The Presiding Overseer interrupted me and finished my sentence and said ".... you will 'take action'....."
I just said "yes".
Never heard from them again.
