The wonder of scientific research

this has possibly been brought up before however here goes.. constant reference is made by many posters to scientific research as being the only way to prove something factual that would otherwise have to be taken on faith.

there actually seems to be "faith" in scientific findings.. my experience over many years is that most scientific research is fake.

nothing oftencomes of the big announcements made to raise more money.. money, prestige, pride, human error, suppositions etc., are rife amongst the scientific community.. i realise that there have been many advances over hundreds of years but humankind is in a mess, although very different to even a century ago.. the medical profession now has vaccinations for everything, antiviral drugs etc.

Interesting Amicabl to bring up this topic and today on the news is the publication of a 8 year study by a Dr Sam Parnia called The Aware Study about Near Death Experiences. I pasted just two of many news stories released today, and kind of hope they are true, but remain skeptical from all the past studies that promote just one side of this story.

These new videos they are now making are just so wrong, but if you are drinking their kool aid, you just can't get enough. I can totally see Warwick becoming the next Jonestown.

An Uber Elder,s wife and sons that from her seat, she directs the sickening songs as if she were a Lawrence Welk type, and shaking her head up and down to every statement from the platform, as if she were a bobble head. So pious and condescending. Very similar to watching Jimmy Swaggart singers on tv and as the hold their hands waving to the ceiling, it is just so phony.

The Change

my jw friends that came to my house months ago finally have figured out i am in no way going to become a jw (how it took them that long i have no idea).

now the change to them wanting to have nothing to do with me has begun.

Ask them if they believe in Flying, like Im going to the airport to fly away to Spain, or Im flying tomorrow to Japan. Then ask them to read Psalms 90:10 and explain "fly away". Just another toe stumper.

now i just heard 50 dead and 200 injured.

whatever it is it just another nut case who was able to get a high power gun to kill people.

Stupid, stupid nonsense in the October JW broadcast

so in the october jw broadcast, there is a "morning worship" segment in which g. jackson goes to great lengths to explain how the term "those taking the lead" are not "leaders".. the terms are exactly equivalent, of course, but jackson, with a wink & smirk, pats himself on the back for his own cleverness on how different they really are.it's just so bizarrely absurd.. imagine if such tortured reasoning were applied to other areas..... -------------------------------------.

restaurant manager: i'm sorry, the only position we have open is for dishwasher.

Im kinda in the same spot as you are, I make light of anything my still in says about armageddon coming soon, like Im going thru my own little armageddon just waiting for you to wake up. And waiting on Jehovah, I say great , that will not be in our lifetime, cause he aint done nothing for over 2000 years thats verifiable, just hearsay. Humor gets them off their high horse and they usually change the subject.
