Looking back at lies coming out of the WT, I found another one that I had not paid much attention to. It is in the foreward of any Awake magazine before nov 1995 where it states "the creator,s promise" of a peaceful and secure new world before the generation that saw the events of 1914 passes away. The creator,s promise implies that god himself said this, not that it is an educated opinion of some bible know it all. This statement is blatantly false and it is surprising that there was not a great exodus of critical thinkers out of the watchtower when this prediction was dropped.

Jehovah's Witnesses Called At My Door
by Roger Kirkpatrick inlast saturday morning, i answered a knock at my door to see a man standing next to a young boy who handed me a pamphlet posing the question, "how do you view the bible?
would you say it is (1) a book of human wisdom?
(2) a book of myths and legends?

I was surprised that they allowed you to question their Jehovah and bring up Yahweh and Allah. At that point I would think they would have excused themselves and booked it out of your yard, and marked your address to never come back. You were bursting their cult bubble and they were squirming to get the hell out of your doorstep.

Dont know what to make of WT society, really.
by nowawake14 inthey have the dumbest thinking.. us vs. them mentality.
example: if you don't worship 'jehovah', you're a satanist.
the truth is, if you dont worship jehovah, you're not worshipping anyone!

not to mention it is run by just men. Women have no role in leadership.

How Would You Help A JW. Recognize They Do Not Have The Truth?
by minimus inevery witness says they are “ in the truth”.
that expression implies that what they say is the “truth “.
how could you help a witness understand that they clearly do not have “the truth “?.

I tend to let media tell them, by having ready some of these videos on demand from youtube to show them. Also on discovery ID channel there have been a few hour length shows particularly the one with Remy Maple and sex abuse with children and watch them squirm. Usually they try to switch the subject to "catholics are worse" or "that is a sign of the end" comment. I learned you just can't win. the saying runs true, "someone convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still."

I remember when I use to study, the elder would come over in the evening and if there was a ball game on, I would have it on and start with an adult beverage and walla, there goes the study down the drain. He would try to bring up a bible point , maybe how exercising is beneficial for a little, but that was it, till it was time for him to go. I bet he counted all that time too.

Also I think that some studies are just nice and polite people who do not want to be blunt and tell the witness that they think they are off center and wish there was some way to get out of this routine politely. I will bet that once the student is told they are not coming back every week, inside they are secretly screaming, "yes!" Just like when you get out of a contract that you never liked anyway.

You use your vacation time to waste it in prime summertime to sweat in a suit and spend 3 days at a convention of like minded robots.

Another Repetitive JW Public Talk: What's the Kingdom Doing For Us Now?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthis young fool (who is probably a born-in ) is no older than 35 years of age.
i started attending meetings before he was even born.
little does he know that you and i and millions of others have listened to this same themed talk, ''what's the kingdom doing for us now,'' in 1972. .

Very similar to time share presentations, a repeat of same old benefits to newly recruited buyers who are unaware of prior gullible individuals who paid way too much for something they could get on e bay for $1. They are successful only because there is a constant flow of uneducated buyers . BTW there are web sites that are dedicated to educating about timeshares(kind of like this site that tries to educate "newly found ones") but the problem is that probably half the population doesn't educate themselves.

"This system will probably be over in about 5 years"
by john.prestor ini don't think i shared this story yet, it's strange and although i did a little detective work trying to figure out who said what and when i never found out much, big surprise, jehovah's witnesses love their secrets as we all know... but i thought other posters might find this interesting both in and of itself, because of what an elder told me one sunday back in 2011, and because of what it could imply as to high-ranking jehovah's witnesses prophesying the date of armageddon.
specific dates went out the window in 1975, although governing body helper ken flodin hinted at 2040 in a talk uploaded to jw.org a couple years back, and the governing body hinted at 2034 in a watchtower back in the 90s.
but it might be, just might, that more specific date-setting still goes on behind closed doors in certain circuits.... so after i went to "meetings" and talked to witnesses for a couple years at a rural congregation in the eastern united states an elder pulled me aside one service into the vestibule at the hall, in other words, into a private area where no one would overhear us.

I heard an elder say that the United States was going to collapse so very soon because of Trump. These type of statements are what they are famous for and in my mind I was calling him a fool. Kind of like on CNN the head of air traffic controllers union said that with the shortage of workers, it is making air traffic less safe. So if there just happens to be a crash, they can point to "see I told you so".
