Lol. Maybe donate to the local kingdom hall? They could update the sound system to dolby digital with a kick ass subwoofer under the podium. Leather seats that reclined with cupholders. Replace the carpet that actually matched the color scheme of the chairs and walls. It would be one pimped out KH.

Discussion with my dad about 607 in a week,,,,help?

they still feel there is "hope" for me.

Have him prove to you how the watchtower society has arrived with the 607 BCE date, not you prove to him. That way he can figure out for himself if the date is conclusive or not. And you can point him in the right direction of how you came to your understanding. I believe, though, its important how you deal with the situation more than what can be proven or not. People cannot see something right in front of them unless they are willing to see it. Just give it careful thought and how you want to approach the whole matter with your dad and that you don't lose your cool. I myself am guilty for doing that with my family when I left, and wish that I was more experienced in how to handle the whole thing. Wish you luck on your meeting with your dad. Keep us posted.

You know it took me a few years to realize that and to fully admit that it is just that... a cult. The WTBTS teaches you how to defend against others' accusations. But now I can happily admit to my "worldly" friends that I was raised up in a friggin cult.

Thanks for the info, Celestial. Would you perhaps know when the watchtower society had become a NGO? If the UN had adopted the Universal Decleration of Human Rights in 1948 then it would have been very appealing for the WTBTS to sign up as a NGO thus allowing them more freedom especially to get their message into other countries.
