This is quite an about face:
km 4/09:
Is it appropriate for congregations or individuals to use the logos of legal corporations used by Jehovah’s Witnesses?
A logo is a name, symbol, or trademark designed for easy and definite recognition. The Watch Tower logo is representative of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania and other corporations used by the organization. The Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses uses an open Bible in its letterhead. Other corporations used by Jehovah’s Witnesses have different logos.
Congregations or individuals should not use logos or names of the organization’s legal entities, or variations thereof, on their Kingdom Halls, signs, letterhead, personal objects, and so forth. Such use of the organization’s logos may cause confusion for public officials, publishers, and others about the legal affiliation of the congregation with the organization’s legal entities. Similarly, written correspondence could be misinterpreted as being approved or sent from the world headquarters or the branch office.
The Watch Tower logo, or a variation of it, should not be used in future Kingdom Hall projects even if the Kingdom Hall is owned by a Watch Tower entity. Congregations with existing Kingdom Halls that bear a logo are not required to make immediate changes to signs or designs, since such changes may involve major alterations and much time, effort, and expense. However, consideration should be given to making a change if it would be minor and would not require extensive work. Otherwise it can be made when the building or sign is scheduled for renovation.
yes, you read correctly..... all appointed men have been told in a new letter that they have to pioneer to "set the lead" whenever there is a "special" campaign month.
they use some scripture saying that these ones have to show by example.... so for any of us who are appointed and have learned ttatt, it is going to be very hard to fade during this time!.
.
It's not just appointed men. During this week's service meeting part about the campaign, the elder said, "The Governing Body has directed that everyone pioneer during August."
Well... isn't that special.
i watched this video this morning and in it, the person refered to the july 15 wt but does not say what lesson or page.
showing in the video where it says that 'jesus arrival to appoint the faithful slave over his belongings did not occour in 1919'.. on the jw.org website i downladed this issue and cant find where this is stated , i do not have that issue.. if someone can watch the video , its almost at the end, tell me id your issue says that.
if it is not at the jw.org website, and the statement is in the print issue then why would that be?

16 Regarding the faithful and discreet slave, Jesus says: “Happy is that slave if his master on arriving [“having come,” ftn.] finds him doing so.” In the parable of the virgins, Jesus states: “While they were going off to buy, the bridegroom arrived [“came,” Kingdom Interlinear].” In the parable of the talents, Jesus relates: “After a long time the master of those slaves came.” In the same parable, the master says: “On my arrival [“having come,” Int] I would be receiving what is mine.” (Matt. 24:46; 25:10, 19, 27) To what time do these four instances of Jesus’ coming refer?
17 In the past, we have stated in our publications that these last four references apply to Jesus’ arriving, or coming, in 1918. As an example, take Jesus’ statement about “the faithful and discreet slave.” (Read Matthew 24:45-47.) We understood that the “arriving” mentioned in verse 46 was linked to the time when Jesus came to inspect the spiritual condition of the anointed in 1918 and that the appointment of the slave over all the Master’s belongings occurred in 1919. (Mal. 3:1) However, a further consideration of Jesus’ prophecy indicates that an adjustment in our understanding of the timing of certain aspects of Jesus’ prophecy is needed. Why so?
18 In the verses that lead up to Matthew 24:46, the word “coming” refers consistently to the time when Jesus comes to pronounce and execute judgment during the great tribulation. (Matt. 24:30, 42, 44) Also, as we considered in paragraph 12, Jesus’ ‘arriving’ mentioned at Matthew 25:31 refers to that same future time of judgment. So it is reasonable to conclude that Jesus’ arrival to appoint the faithful slave over all his belongings, mentioned at Matthew 24:46, 47, also applies to his future coming, during the great tribulation. Indeed, a consideration of Jesus’ prophecy in its entirety makes it clear that each of these eight references to his coming applies to the future time of judgment during the great tribulation.
19 In review, what have we learned? In the beginning of this article, we raised three “when” questions. We first considered that the great tribulation did not begin in 1914 but will start when the United Nations attacks Babylon the Great. Then, we reviewed why Jesus’ judgment of the sheep and the goats did not begin in 1914 but will occur during the great tribulation. Finally, we examined why Jesus’ arrival to appoint the faithful slave over all his belongings did not occur in 1919 but will take place during the great tribulation. So, then, all three “whens” apply to the same future time period—the great tribulation. How does this adjusted view further affect our understanding of the illustration of the faithful slave? Also, how does it affect our understanding of other parables, or illustrations, of Jesus that are being fulfilled during this time of the end? These important questions will be considered in the following articles.
My own small bit of commentary here.... they're STILL wrong. Jesus doesn't arrive DURING the great tribulation, but AFTER. Matt 24:29-31 says:
"29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves in grief, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he will send out his angels with a great trumpet sound, and they will gather his chosen ones together from the four winds, from one extremity of the heavens to their other extremity.
oh the foolishness of youth.
there i was assigned to parking at the district assembly in montreal.
i was single, and in the full-time service.
This belongs on craigslist in the Personals section under "Missed Connections". LOL! :)
old timers, or careful readers of the proclaimers book, are familiar with the "testimony card" used in the early days of rutherford-era door to door witnessing.
the jw would traipse up to a house, knock, hand the card over to the householder, and wait while he read it.. well, it seems that "everything old is new again".
here is an excerpt from a recent boe letter:.
For those who want a scan of the letter... I can assure you this is real. An elder told me this same thing over the weekend.
i stopped attending meetings over one year ago, and i have thoroughly made it clear to all friends & family that i am opposed to the teachings of jehovah's witnesses, and i cannot support a religion that teaches lies.. i have systematically examined each teaching & practice of the jehovah's witnesses.
concluding that many are not scriptural or logical.. after a year i have very unexpectedly arrived at another conclusion.
the jehovah's witnesses do have the truth.
What has this thread accomplished, other than allowing a healthy debate?
But I rather enjoyed this debate. ;)
Kinda like a practice run for when the elders come-a-callin'! He he.

Had to go to meeting, thus the delay in my reply.
1. Jesus Attended the Jewish Synagogue for Most of His Life. At that time, they were Absolutely Teaching False Doctrine, as well as Man Made tradition that was Contrary to God's True Word.
True. Of course, he was sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. He was also an Israelite. And as for those false doctrines and traditions, what did he do? Just go along with it? For a time, yes. But after his baptism, he called them hypocrites for teaching commands of men as false doctrines for their traditions, for burdening the people. Try doing that in a Kingdom Hall.
2. Paul supported False Religion, and he even Murdered righteous men in Support of that Religion. - Jesus chose him, because of his Heart Condtion.
Also true. However, recall what Christ said to him at first: "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?" (Acts 9:4) Yes, he saw the good in him, but he also acknowledged the bad. That was to change with Paul.
Later, Paul said:
"Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship do righteousness and lawlessness have? Or what sharing does light have with darkness? 15 Further, what harmony is there between Christ and Be′li·al? Or what does a believer share in common with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement does God’s temple have with idols? For we are a temple of a living God; just as God said: “I will reside among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” 17 “‘Therefore, get out from among them, and separate yourselves,’ says Jehovah, ‘and quit touching the unclean thing’”; “‘and I will take you in.’” 18 “‘And I will become a father to you, and you will become sons and daughters to me,’ says Jehovah, the Almighty." (2 Cor 6:14-18)
Notice the order... get out, separate yourselves, quit touching the unclean thing... and I will take you in. I'm not saying the order is ultra crucial, but it's noteworthy, nonetheless, and I would say that if we know a religion/church to be false, this admonition has to count for something. Plus, we have the benefit of the visions of Revelation, including the angel declaring (speaking of Babylon the Great), "Get out of her, my people!". That must be taken into consideration.
3. No one, teaches Truth, anywhere in the World. I believe that Jesus wants us to Remain in the Church that we are in at the time of Being Called .1 Cor 7:17 " Only let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him. This is my rule in all the churches." (My opinion, what are your thoughts on this Scripture?)
I'm not afraid to say that I believe in Christ. Before undertaking this journey learning TTATT, I had zero faith in Christ. I thought I did, but have realized that my faith was seriously misplaced in "the organization" instead of Christ. To that end, I agree with you. No one can truly teach truth unless they look to the one who IS truth, that is, Christ. John 14:6) There are some here who would mock me for that position, but it is my position, nonetheless.
To address the verse you quoted, it's an interesting take, but since I like reading things in context, let's take a look at this more in context. Not sure which translation you used... perhaps ESV? Here's the passage, verses 17-23.
Only let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him. This is my rule in all the churches. 18 Was anyone at the time of his call already circumcised? Let him not seek to remove the marks of circumcision. Was anyone at the time of his call uncircumcised? Let him not seek circumcision. 19 For neither circumcision counts for anything nor uncircumcision, but keeping the commandments of God. 20 Each one should remain in the condition in which he was called. 21 Were you a bondservant when called? Do not be concerned about it. (But if you can gain your freedom, avail yourself of the opportunity.) 22 For he who was called in the Lord as a bondservant is a freedman of the Lord. Likewise he who was free when called is a bondservant of Christ. 23 You were bought with a price; do not become bondservants of men. 24 So, brothers, in whatever condition each was called, there let him remain with God.
The point Paul was trying to make was that a person need not make drastic changes if they are called because their calling was not dependent on such changes. It's a free gift. However, he did make it a point to say that if they were slaves, they should try to gain their freedom. He made that point elsewhere, too, that they should not be enslaved to men. Take that for what it's worth.
Here's my thinking on the matter. If I could openly speak about the Bible with JWs without being judged/ostracized/hauled before a judicial committee and thrown out, if I could disagree with the GB on matters of importance, if I could openly declare my faith in Christ, then remaining a JW might be an option. But, I cannot do any of that. I cannot openly declare my faith in Christ without, at a minimum, raising eyebrows. I certainly could not openly declare my faith by my actions by partaking of the bread and the wine at the Memorial. That being the case, in my opinion, at some point in time, I will have to "come out".

When I began Striving To Do instead of Know, is when I started to Understand God & Truth much Clearer.
Ok... so now we're converging onto the same path. :)
But, when one does KNOW what isn't true, then being part of that which isn't true is problematic. That's my thinking, anyway.

Acts 1:7 - Jesus did not Answer their Question.. If I were to ask you, "Will you be Going to the Store Tomorrow" and you Replied, "Don't worry about that, it's none of your Business" The Result would be the same, if I had never asked the Question.. Jesus did not answer, he Just let it be and allowed them to wonder.
Ah, but Jesus' answer was a correction when he said: "It does not belong to you to know". You said he didn't correct them. You didn't say he didn't answer them. I addressed your statement about him not correcting them. True, he didn't answer their question, but he DID correct them.
declares Jehovah. “I will put my law within them, and in their heart I will write it. And I will become their God, and they will become my people.”" If God is writing his law within people's hearts, how would it be possible to write errors and inaccuracies? - God's Laws are His Statutes,Commandments,Regulations and Not Scriptural Doctrine relating to Prophecy,Chronology and Historical Interpretation..
I'll give you that at as a technicality, though that does bring into question why so much is written about Jehovah and his Laws (such as the current book, "Draw Close to Jehovah", being studied at the Congregation Bible Study.) Doctrine relating to prophecy, chronology and historical interpretation must be very carefully treaded on. "Do not go beyond the things that are written". JWs do this routinely.
Thanks for quoting the MOSAIC LAW that was abolished. This is the JW mindset. This is not the mind of Christ.
