This is actually a very good example of reading into the scriptures whatever you want. Saving for future use. -

It's all under the guise of getting 8 million people to be "in unity". As explained at our CA, with 8 million people from all walks of life, one of the biggest challenges the organization is facing is being peacable with one another. Thus the "Seek Peace and Pursue It" theme of the CA. That CA was all about denying self and looking out for the other person. Of course, that's not a bad thing. But much of it comes at the cost of individuality. It's interesting how little the Bible actually says about ways to be peaceful. Christ and the apostles left the "how" part of "love your neighbor" up to each person, with small reminders to simply be peaceable. The organization, on the other hand, has to control it. How to be peaceable as a youth at school. How to be peaceable within the congregation. How to be peaceable while in the field ministry. And so on.
I expect more control to come down. It's a natural course for a high-control group like this.

My favorite: What if Jehovah is waiting on us? After all, the scriptures were written over 2000 years ago! -

I kept thinking about this passage at Matthew 12:1-12
At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples got hungry and started to pluck heads of grain and to eat. 2 At seeing this, the Pharisees said to him: “Look! Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath.” 3 He said to them: “Have you not read what David did when he and the men with him were hungry? 4 How he entered into the house of God and they ate the loaves of presentation, something that it was not lawful for him or those with him to eat, but for the priests only? 5 Or have you not read in the Law that on the Sabbaths the priests in the temple violate the Sabbath and continue guiltless? 6 But I tell you that something greater than the temple is here. 7 However, if you had understood what this means, ‘I want mercy and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless ones. 8 For the Son of man is Lord of the Sabbath.”
9 After departing from that place, he went into their synagogue, 10 and look! there was a man with a withered hand! So they asked him, “Is it lawful to cure on the Sabbath?” so that they might accuse him. 11 He said to them: “If you have one sheep and that sheep falls into a pit on the Sabbath, is there a man among you who will not grab hold of it and lift it out? 12 How much more valuable is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful to do a fine thing on the Sabbath.” -

You should probably include "faithful slave" and "slave class" in your count. Next, do one on "governing body".
It is interesting that 2014 saw the lowest occurrences of the FDS variants in many years (9 total). Even "governing body" was on the low side (23). I'm counting occurrences in The Watchtower only, not in other publications.

Site Update: Jan 10, 2015
by Simon ini've made some updates to the user section of the site.
besides some cosmetic tweaks the most notable new feature is the ability to see a listing of the topics someone has posted on - this includes topics they started as well as topics they replied to.. it will look like this when you go to a user page or your own profile page:.
simon.

Are the topics started and posted on sync'd with the old site? I ask because it says I have only started 1 topic and posted 31 times. I think that's since the new site debuted. Although topics posted shows all the topics. I think something isn't linking quite right. Maybe it's just my account???
Still... great job on the new forum.

I finally got the nerve to watch this. Morris started off saying they haven't said much about higher education since the 2005 article. To be fair, he said they didn't talk about is as in-depth as that article. However, I mapped the frequency which the phrase "higher education" is found in The Watchtower since 1950. I only counted number of articles the phrase was found in, not the number of times the phrase is actually used. The 2005 article uses the phrase 16 times in a single article. Results are quite telling.
1950-1959 - 5 articles
1960-1969 - 8 articles
1970-1979 - 7 articles
1980-1989 - 18 articles
1990-1999 - 13 articles
2000-2009 - 13 articles
2010-2014 - 17 articles -

Experience in a talk
by Da.Furious inlast week we had an elder giving a talk, cant remember the title.. the thing that was of interest is the experience he gave:.
"a brother who was working in a hospital had to leave his job which was paying him good money because the nurses wanted to sleep with him and they kept putting notes for him on his desk!".
this is not the first time i hear similar experience.

A brother who was working in a hospital had to leave his job which was paying him good money because the nurses wanted to sleep with him and they kept putting notes for him on his desk!
Was this in the U.S.? If so, I call BS on this. There are laws in the U.S. against sexual harassment. A person can be fired for what most people consider innocent flirting. But when a written note is involved, all that brother had to do was bring it to the HR department and lodge a complaint. Problem solved.
